SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Wrap-Up Show” on Wednesday invited yet another disillusioned Donald Trump voter on air to vent about the president ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. This time, it was John from Pennsylvania’s turn to explain to host Emily Jashinsky exactly why he is “angry” with the man he helped back into office and admitted he still calls “Big Daddy Trump.” “I’m self-employed. My insurance, my health insurance has turned into, now, like a huge mortgage payment with a huge deductible. I have two 16-year-old boys that just started driving on my insurance as well. That’s insane. Gas prices are insane,” he said in audio shared online by the nonprofit research center Media Matters for America. John voted for Trump, who is currently enduring some of the worst polling numbers of his presidency, in the 2024 election and said he was “horrified at the thought” of Trump’s rival, former Vice President Kamala Harris, winning the White House, he told Jashinsky. “But I got to tell you, I’m angry,” he continued, adding that he “trusted Trump” and “it’s so weird because I supported him completely, I trusted him 1,000%.” John said his “one fear, was my insurance and stuff like that, and I’m getting clobbered now, and it’s hard to make ends meet.” “My wife also, she’s self-employed. We’re struggling,” he added. “And they talk about, like, kitchen table issues. This is a huge one for me.” John revealed that politically he’s “up in the air right now.” “I grew up as, my household, my dad was an old-school Democrat union guy. I believe that barely even, it doesn’t exist anymore,” he said. “And I don’t mean to sound mean, but I’m not a, you know, the blue-haired liberals and this weird nonsense. I’m not down with that. But I feel, I don’t want to say lied to, but I’m upset.” Listen here via Media Matters for America: By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
