GOP Trump Foe Grilled About All The Times The President Made Him Fold

The ladies of “The View” wouldn’t allow Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) to paint himself as some sort of right-wing maverick in his new book “How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents,” despite almost always siding with President Donald Trump. Panelist Ana Navarro took Tillis to task during his Monday stop by the show, asking why he repeatedly backed Trump’s cabinet nominees, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, after calling them unqualified, untrustworthy or both. Tillis said that in Hegseth’s case, he decided to defer to his colleagues on the Senate Armed Services committee and that they “all made a mistake.” Navarro told Tillis that his flip-flopping kind of breaks her heart. “I feel you were very inconsistent in this book, because on the one hand, you go through all of the reasons why Hegseth was unqualified,” she said. “You go through all of the reasons why [former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi] Noem was unqualified. You kept calling her like an ‘unqualified dog killer,’ and yet you voted for them.” “Both are true,” Tillis replied. "I hope he gets fired."
