A woman who says she was romantically involved with former “American Idol” contestant and pastor Caleb Flynn ― who is accused of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn ― is sharing startling new details about their alleged relationship.

Alleigha Botner took the stand in Miami County, Ohio, on Wednesday and Thursday to testify in Flynn’s trial. During her testimony Thursday, the 24-year-old read aloud text messages allegedly sent to her by Caleb Flynn, 40. In some of them, Caleb Flynn indicated he wanted his wife “gone,” even if it meant “ruining my daughters’ lives.”

“You know I hate her,” Caleb Flynn said of Ashley Flynn in one of the messages, as seen in footage obtained by local NBC affiliate WLWT. “I can’t even stand the sight of her or the mention of her.”

Botner’s testimony took a particularly emotional turn when she read one particularly jaw-dropping exchange.

“I just wish I didn’t say this,” she told the court, before reading a message she sent to Caleb Flynn: “I want to kill her, Caleb.”

As for Caleb Flynn’s response, she said: “He said, ‘That makes two of us.’”

Botner, who now works as a marketing specialist, said she met Caleb Flynn in 2022 while she was interning at their church.

Though she knew Caleb Flynn was married and had been introduced to his wife, she claimed she began a sexual relationship with him in May 2024.

According to WLWT, Botner said she and Caleb Flynn had continued to discuss their future together right up through Feb. 15, the day before Ashley Flynn’s death.

“Alleigha, I love you, and if you give me just one more chance, I’ll love you to the day you die,” Flynn wrote in one text that day, per Botner. Later, Botner said, “He said, ‘I choose you, Alleigha. You’re more than enough. Goodnight.’”

Ashley Flynn, 37, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds Feb. 16 at the Tipp City, Ohio home she shared with Caleb Flynn. The couple’s daughters, who were then 9 and 11, were asleep at the time.

Authorities had been summoned to the scene by Caleb Flynn, who told a 911 dispatcher that someone had broken into the home in the middle of the night and killed his wife.

Three days later, Caleb Flynn was arrested and charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence. He has pleaded not guilty.

An Ohio native, Caleb Flynn briefly competed on the 12th season of “American Idol” in 2013. He was cut shortly into the competition and did not make it to the televised rounds.

A short interview conducted with Caleb Flynn can be found on the official “American Idol” YouTube account. In it, he says he loves his wife “more than anything,” and cites Carrie Underwood as his favorite “Idol” winner.
