Eric Trump stirred controversy with posts on X from the lavish White House state dinner that his father, President Donald Trump, held for Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday.

The president’s second son posted a photograph of himself and his wife, Fox News personality Lara Trump, dressed to the nines in a dance-like pose.

The image attracted criticism, with detractors contrasting the glamorous scene, involving two people who are not official members of the Trump administration, with Americans’ concerns about the cost of living.

The Trump scion also shared a 27-second clip showing a performance at the event of the song “One Day More” from “Les Misérables.”

In the musical, which is, perhaps unironically, one of Donald Trump’s favorites, the song comes as student revolutionaries prepare to rise up.

The musical also has some notable history in Xi’s China, with another number — “Do You Hear the People Sing?” — becoming an anthem for pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.
