John Oliver wants Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison to know he’s a good little work baby.

On Sunday’s episode of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver called out his MAGA-friendly soon-to-be boss for his role in kicking Stephen Colbert off the air.

What makes the slight especially clever is that Oliver managed to do it while promising Ellison that he’d “never make fun” of him — and amid a larger segment scrutinizing UnitedHealthcare.

The comedian set up his joke by sharing a story about Kate Weissman, a cancer patient who was denied coverage for a life-saving treatment by UnitedHealthcare — despite the majority of her Harvard University-associated doctors advocating for the procedure. Eventually, Weissman’s parents footed the bill for her $95,000 treatment.

“Having access to wealthy parents just cannot be the system to get badly needed healthcare,” Oliver said as a photo of Ellison popped up on the screen beside him. “Even if it is, apparently, the system that lets you be in charge of HBO.”

“Yeah, my soon-to-be business daddy has a literal business daddy,” Oliver said as the photo of Ellison expanded to include a shot of his dad, billionaire Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.

According to The New York Times, Paramount reached an agreement on Monday that eliminates its “last significant barrier” to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery — the parent company of HBO, which is the network that airs “Last Week Tonight.”

HBO will be folded into Paramount’s larger media empire, which already includes the network CBS, and is currently undergoing a makeover under David Ellison’s leadership.

“And to be very clear, I deeply respect that,” Oliver said, mockingly changing his tone to sound vaguely genuine. “And I would never make fun of you for it, unlike that pesky Stephen Colbert.”
