You Can Now Get Coins With Trump’s Face On Them — And The Reactions Are Priceless

The U.S. Mint is officially releasing a $1 coin of Donald Trump on Wednesday, and it’s already inspiring a jackpot of snarky comments on social media. The coin shows Trump’s profile as “heads,” while the “tails” side shows the Great Seal of the United States, with a bald eagle appearing to hold arrows in one claw and, in the other, an olive branch. Although the coin is ostensibly intended to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, it also seems to be a way to allow the president to indulge in one of his favorite pastimes: putting his name and likeness on anything possible. The coins are only worth a buck each, but will be sold as collector’s items, with a 25-coin roll selling for $61 while a bag of 100 goes for $154.50. Some special-issue coins marked “July 4” ― the day they were struck ― will be randomly hidden among the rolls and bags. Initially, each household can place only two orders for coins until the cap lifts at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday. Available for purchase today at 12PM ET: 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin. These coins are also in circulation, so check your pocket change. However, many people on social media didn’t seem excited about the thought of a Trump coin. As a result, there was a windfall of ridicule over the whole concept. The Caesars and Napoleon won some wars before stamping their images on the coinage of their fallen republics. https://t.co/e6NBmB0qs2 I like that this design appears to show the birth date of liberty as 1776, and its death as 2026 https://t.co/sXinZjEP9m Can’t afford rising gas or diesel, groceries and healthcare, but this is being pushed out.
