Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is raising eyebrows after he made a particularly ironic statement about not trusting the government.

Duffy and his wife, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, were on Tuesday’s episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast” when Miller asked them to name a conspiracy theory they believed in.

The transportation secretary immediately laughed and responded, “Which one don’t we believe in?”

Campos-Duffy echoed him, adding that she was “with RFK on the vaccines,” apparently referring to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s repeated promotion of scientifically debunked claims that vaccines are dangerous.

Duffy agreed with his wife, telling Miller that he “believed in a lot of” conspiracy theories.

“I agree with the vaccines ... We’ve been lied to so often, and over and over and over again,” he said. “Even, like, this Russia collusion, from Russia collusion to COVID and the lab leak theory, and to vaccines, all of this has just been lie after lie after lie.”

The transportation secretary then added that he has a “hard time believing the government anymore.”

His wife agreed. “As citizens, it’s our job to be suspicious of the government ... like, that’s what it is to be American,” Campos-Duffy said.

Miller then asked if the couple found themselves questioning other Cabinet secretaries, “understanding we’re in the government.” Campos-Duffy enthusiastically agreed, but her husband was silent.

Social media users on X scratched their heads over Duffy’s remarks. “YOU ARE THE GOVERNMENT,” one person reminded him.

Someone else wrote, “Gotta love them not trusting their own organization they have complete control over. If they don’t trust the government, why not do something to fix it? He has a cabinet level position.”

“Oh, the fucking irony...” another added.

Duffy recently came under fire online for another controversial take after a clip of him discussing a Gen Z actor’s breasts resurfaced on social media this week.

“Sydney Sweeney’s boobs make us want to reproduce,” Duffy said in front of his wife in a 2024 episode of “From the Kitchen Table: The Duffys.” “Sydney Sweeney’s boobs are gonna save America.”
