Travis Kelce is breaking his silence on why he and Taylor Swift decided to get married at a unique venue ― Madison Square Garden.

Kelce and Swift tied the knot on July 3 at MSG in front of around 1,000 guests.

When speculation began to swirl that the couple were getting married at the major sports and entertainment venue, many fans wondered why.

“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” Kelce said on the season premiere of his podcast, “New Heights,” on Wednesday. “We needed it to be a private feel. And MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”

At the Chief’s preseason camp in July, Kelce also shared why tying the knot at the iconic New York venue meant so much to him.

“MSG, man, you know ― I always told myself I go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in minicamp, so I didn’t get my opportunity to go then,” Kelce said of Swift attending Game 4 of the NBA finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs in June, just weeks before their wedding.

He added that “It’s kind of cool, you know, to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, you know ― the mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there.”

“Can’t thank the owners of MSG for for let allowing us to get the opportunity to do that,” he said.

“It was perfect and the AC was cooking, baby,” Kelce said to laughs from reporters. “That was the best part.”
