Anne Hathaway became the target of MAGA’s anger on Tuesday after an anti-abortion website dredged up her old comments on reproductive rights.

Hathaway, in a 2022 appearance on “The View” after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, underscored the importance of a young woman’s “reproductive destiny” before remarking on her “own personal experience with abortion.”

“I don’t think we talk about this enough; abortion can be another word for mercy,” said Hathaway, who, days after SCOTUS’ decision, used the anniversary of “The Devil Wears Prada” to point out that the film’s young female characters built their lives and careers in a country that honored their reproductive rights.

She later continued, “We know that no two pregnancies are alike and it follows that no two lives are alike, that follows that no two conceptions are alike. So how can we have a law — how can we have a point of view on this that says we must treat everything the same?”

“And where I come at it from is when you allow for choice, you allow for flexibility, which is what we need in order to be human.”

LifeNews.com — which describes itself as a site that’s “fighting abortion” — shared a clip of the comments on X, and the MAGA pile-on grew from there.

“This is truly sick,” wrote Fox News’ Laura Ingraham of the clip.

“She’s a monster,” remarked Marc Thiessen, an ex-George W. Bush speechwriter-turned-Fox News contributor.

Swimmer-turned-anti-trans-crusader Riley Gaines weighed in, writing, “Anne Hathaway thinks it can be merciful to end human life deemed inconvenient. And all the women of The View smile and nod along in agreement.”

And the right-wing “Libs of TikTok” account wrote that the “Devil Wears Prada” star’s take was simply “DEMONIC.”

The meltdown from red hat wearers comes just days after ex-“Days of Thunder” star and Trump backer Randy Quaid bashed the decision to cast her in the sequel to the Tom Cruise-led racing movie.

Hathaway, who is pregnant, appeared alongside Cruise in a teaser for “Days of Thunder 2” last week, where she noted that they’ll make the movie after her baby is born.

That vow apparently wasn’t enough for Quaid, who questioned if Hathaway was “sexy” enough for the part.
