Detectives investigating the rape of a 17-year-old girl at a railway station have released images of a man they say they would like to speak to.

British Transport Police (BTP) said a man approached the victim and her friends as they walked to Guildford railway station, in Surrey, at about 19:00 GMT on 19 January, 2025.

The man tried to get the teenager to board a train with him and asked her for sex, both of which she declined, before he separated her from friends outside the station and raped her, a police spokesperson said.

Det Sgt Nick Thompson said the person pictured could have "vital information" and asked if anyone recognised him, to get in touch.

After the attack, the girl managed to get away from the man and ran back to her friends, who were still outside the entrance of the station, BTP said.

Thompson said: "The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack.

"Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry as part of our ongoing investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP.
