MS NOW’s Rachel Maddow on Monday flagged what she believes is an embarrassing pattern for Donald Trump of promising spectacular events that ultimately fall flat.

Maddow drew parallels between previous Trump events and the series of problems surrounding the president-backed events marking America’s 250th birthday, such as the controversy over the White House cage fight and performers pulling out of a planned concert amid backlash to their attendance.

“You know, this is kind of how it goes with Trump,” she said.

Maddow recalled Trump’s first inauguration, which she said was “poorly organized, poorly attended and sort of sadly underwhelming when it came to star power” and his underwhelming “sad and small” military parade in Washington last year.

“I mean, even for Trump, I think it was therefore kind of a relief when his second inauguration came around and had to be moved indoors for poor weather,” she cracked.

“Trump is just not good at this stuff,” she said.
