Finally, something that’ll turn off your curling iron for you in a timely manner.

As a Deputy Editorial Director for BuzzFeed’s shopping team, I love to get into the weeds of why a product’s worth the money by deep diving into customer reviews, and product-testing as much as possible.

There are many things to keep track of in life, like scheduling your flu shot or remembering which night of the week The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs. I can't help you with those two specific problems (that have to be relevant to others than myself), but I *can* help you problem-solve all kinds of little reminders so you cover the essentials. Now you just have to bookmark and come back to this story when you remember that you wanted to buy something, but you can't remember which item....

Promising review: "It's exactly as described, and I feel safer having this in my home. Sturdy product, easy to use, doesn't take away space." —Nikki

Promising review: "We have it for the hair curlers. We never worry, 'Did you unplug the hair curlers??' as we are driving away somewhere. Leave everything plugged in. Just press the button to activate the power for 30 minutes. Simple." —Earl Thomas

Promising review: "This was a great tip from an Apple employee. It fits nicely next to the keyboard. I got the light blue computer and purchased the black shortcut. Easy to read." —Sharon

Promising review: "I got this because my mother has dementia and she kept putting away dirty dishes. 🤦🏽‍♀️ And believe it or not, she has actually been using it and it definitely has been working! So I highly suggest buying this for parents or someone you know who has a similar problem!" —Raquel

"Exactly as described, adhesive is good quality, and now my household knows when the dishes are clean. 10/10 would buy again." —Naes181

Get it from Amazon for $6.92 (also available in black).

OK, you DO have to remember to spill out the water while you unload the dishwasher, but I believe in you! Currently, the device is only available in orange.

Promising review: "I have been looking for a dishwasher done indicator to use on a stainless-steel front (no magnets). This is the BOMB. NO moving parts. No flimsy clips. No tape, glue, or magnets. Simply slip it over the edge of the bottom basket, and you are good. The sturdy clip does not flex, so there is no wear and tear. The action of the washer fills up the tube. DONE. The first time you open the door after washing, tip out the tube, and you are ready again. Hooray...something that works." —MRMACHINE of Raleigh

Skin-acidifying ingredients can help with odor; read more at Mayo Clinic.

Promising review: "I love these Lume Acidified Deodorant Wipes for on the go or between showers! I use one full sheet on each armpit, wait for them to dry, and then reapply deodorant. They're fantastic and work great! The price point is kinda high, but I love the usability, scent, and effectiveness. Will definitely purchase again." —DoodleMom

Promising review: "This pill organizer is very handy because it allows you to set up your pill regimen for an entire month. The fact that each little container is separate is nice because you can take it with you or set it on the table to help you remember to take your pills. This works well for a friend who has early dementia so he remembers to take all his medications. Very handy." —Mardi

Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in three colors).

These adhesive strips can be reused, but I recommend sticking them to one bottle (or a notebook like the reviewer pictured above right) and refilling with new pills as needed.

Promising review: "I'm pretty good at remembering my meds, but having a tracker on the bottle means that I never have to second-guess myself. One less thing to worry about is gold these days. I love the design, too. It's just a little bit of plastic, very light, but the switch has a clicky mechanical action that feels like a throwback to a more analog era. Satisfying little snap every time. It's extremely simple and extremely effective; does exactly what I want it to do and nothing else. There's just something really satisfying about finding a tool that solves a problem efficiently and effectively. This is 5 stars, well earned!" —Michael

Promising review: "I was a little concerned this was going to be one of those gifts that were hyped up but it’s not. It’s not going to thaw a huge chunk of meat in an hour but I have thawed a chunk of chicken in a few hours. The product itself isn’t very thick which I like as it doesn’t take up a lot of space for storage. It doesn’t warm up, but pulls the cold from the meat, which makes the product thaw (like putting meat in cold water to thaw it faster and not cook it)." —Savannah A.

Oh, and there's also a built-in garlic grinder on the wheat straw side! Check out a TikTok of the double-sided cutting board in action.

Promising review: "This cutting board is perfect! One side is for meat, the other for fruits and vegetables. There is no need for two separate boards. It's very stylish, made of sturdy materials, and easy to clean. It's so pretty I just leave it on the counter, but it does have a handle for hanging." —Jowana Lamb

Reviewers love this because it doesn't require you to "smart enable" other parts of your home, and you can also set a schedule to automate different functions in your home! Also, just note if you want to connect with Alexa or Google Home, you'll need a Hub Mini.

Promising review: "This is exactly what I was looking for and had no idea it existed until I saw someone mention it on TikTok! Our front walkway gets pretty dark at night, and I was frustrated with trying to remember to turn on the light every evening and off every morning. I looked into those light sensors you can plug in, but our front porch light is under an awning with enough shade that it would have kept the light on 24/7. This little Switchbot solved the problem. I applied it to the indoor light switch and set the time on my phone. It has worked perfectly ever since." —Alecia McLochlin

Get it from Amazon for $25.99 (available in white or black and as a pack of three with a Hub Mini).

Promising review: "Brushing became a fun challenge instead of a daily battle. Suction cup is sturdy and sticks nicely to the bathroom mirror." —Hannah

Promising review: "Before: three remotes, one for the screen (on/off), a separate one for the sound system (volume) and of course the fire stick remote. After: just the one convenient integrated unit. No more scrambling to find the which remote to do what I want, cause it's all right there in the one unit. I wish I'd have bought one years ago cause the multi-remote tango got old real fast." —Chapman B.

Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available for several remote styles).

Includes a removable battery tester that doesn't require a battery. Holds up to 93 batteries of various sizes.

Promising review: "Okay, so I've seen these things in a store. I always thought they were kind of dumb and a waste of money. Let me tell you, this thing is AMAZING! We now own several of them. Holds AA, AAA, D, C, and even has a convenient little spot for the circle batteries. It's so nice not having a junk drawer or tub of batteries to sift through. If you love organization, you NEED to buy this. I didn't even know it came with a battery tester, that's pretty dang cool too, and it actually works. Love the clear design lid so you can see through to see what you are running low on. Keeps the batteries safe from water or other stuff getting all over them, too. 10/10 recommend!" —Patrick Ferrari

Promising review: "So I actually tested these bags because I’m a skeptic by nature.

I took three organic bananas:• one in a Debbie Meyer bag• one in a 24/7 Fresh Pack• and one left completely unbaggedAfter six days, the difference was obvious:• The unbagged banana was brown and soft.• The Debbie Meyer one was slightly better but still spotty and mushy.• The 24/7 Fresh Pack banana looked the best — firm, yellow, and way fresher.I’ve repeated this with berries, greens, potatoes, avocados… same story every time. These bags are simply better quality and actually WORK. Highly recommend if you’re tired of throwing money away on spoiled produce. Plus, they are much sturdier than any other bags I tried and reusable." —Anastasia Talan

This works on fruits, veggies, hard cheeses, and even stuff like crayons.

Promising review: "These are the best for half of any round fruit or vegetable. I'm loving them and no more messing around with so many small plastic bags. They don't seem to pick up the smell of onions either, which is a big plus! Easy to open and close, keep food fresh, and seem to be durable. I've had it for a few months now and I'm going to give some away as gifts to family and friends!" —Amazon Customer

I put these on my kitchen cabinet doors and sliding closet doors. They're fantastic!

Promising review: "So my parents’ bathroom cabinets make a lot of noise and are all missing bumpers in the corners of the doors and on the frames. I put these on the other day and life is sweeter without having to hear the cabinet doors slamming or closing each time they’re opened. With the bumpers being clear and not of a color, it’s also aesthetically pleasing." —KW

If it doesn’t have a space on this caddy, I put it away in drawers. This has really helped me keep my skincare routine since everything is right there and organized! Pay attention to the instructions, as you really need to put the rubber bands on correctly. I loved that I could adjust the shelves to fit tall and short items! Promising review: "Couldn't be easier to use really. I tested it with ice water and boiling water and it seems to be pretty accurate. I've already cooked some steaks using it and they came out perfect. Plan to use it a lot with my smoker and expect good results there too. I love that it has the magnets so I can stick on the fridge, the grill or the smoker and it's always handy. And you really can't beat the price at under $10!" —FCC

See a TikTok of the Chef iQ thermometer in action.

Promising review: "I can’t express how impressed I am with this probe. From the packaging to the probe, everything is top quality. The charging block keeps you informed, and the Wi-Fi app allows you to monitor from anywhere. Setup is extremely easy, and the app works flawlessly. It not only gives you recipes, but you can choose the type of meat/fish/etc, and how well you want it cooked, and it will tell you what temp to cook at and for how long. You can also choose how you cook, ie, smoker, grill, oven, etc. It gives you real-time temps and time to finish that is accurate. Everything I have cooked with this in my smoker has come out perfectly. It even accounts for meat rest times. I will definitely be buying more as gifts and will buy additional probes for myself. Highly recommend, this company did everything right. I definitely don’t often rave about products, but this one is worth it." —Zach

I live in an apartment without a dishwasher, and I honestly use that as an excuse to order takeout food instead of cooking. But, as soon as I got my hands on a bottle of this stuff (regular Dawn is my go-to dish soap, BTW), I put it to use on both a saucepan I used to make homemade enchilada sauce *and* the casserole dish I baked those enchiladas, which had a ton of caked-on food. It really does work like I say it does! Like, scary well.

Shower Cat is a small business established in 2021 specializing in products to prevent shower clogs.

Promising review: "I first saw this product on TikTok and I knew immediately that I needed it. I just moved into a new apartment and I didn’t want to be how I used to be, where I’d just let hair go down the drain and plug it eventually, or peel it off of the drain after each shower. It works great but I probably need some practice with it. I currently just floss my hair through it so it will hold them and there are a few stray hairs that don’t stick. I would recommend to anyone who is tired of putting your loose strands of hair on the shower wall." —Cari Schwartzkopf

Promising review: "I bought this so my puppies could traverse to/from their backyard pen area...and keep flying insects out. It is AWESOME! The puppies figured out quickly that they could go through the screen — the screen snapped back into a closed state immediately after they got through the opening. If only all things in life could be solved this easily!" —Lynette S Quigley

Promising review: "These smartbulbs were really easy to connect and set up with Alexa. The colors are bright, the app works well, and I like being able to change the lighting depending on my mood. They respond quickly to voice commands and have worked great so far without disconnecting. Definitely a good value for the price if you want fun lighting for a bedroom, living room, or gaming setup." —Stephanie
