As a full-time writer at BuzzFeed, I cover travel, books, relationships, sitcoms, and all things pop culture. "She told everyone that I was obsessed with her and that I kept asking her to make out with me because I was ‘bored and horny.’ She told everyone that I had called her 'boring' for 'being straight' and that I wanted her to move out of our dorm. She found a new dorm shortly after, moved out without telling me while I was in class, and then ghosted me. To say I was devastated would be an understatement. She didn’t know how to face her life. I really wanted to work through it with her and support her coming-out journey, but she cut me off. Last I heard, she married a man and has a baby. It makes me sad. Although I wasn’t interested in dating her, I really hoped she would explore her sexuality with someone else and remain my best friend. I miss her all the time. It feels like I’m missing a limb. I ask her mother about her all the time. She told her mom that I forced her to move out because I had a crush on the same boy she liked. So clearly, she just keeps making up stories to hide from the truth. I really hope she reaches out one day and that we can rebuild what we had. I ache for her, and it breaks my heart that she’s running from her truth." "Instead of driving home with her friend, they kept going to their 'next stop.' I was just a bed for them — a stop on their 3-week road trip to Vancouver Island. She didn't even ask me about the anniversary. Needless to say, I was devastated." "Not only did she bail on her OWN plans, but she also lied to me multiple times, made such a stupid, life-threatening decision, and then used me to cover for her so her parents wouldn’t have to pick her up and realize she wasn't sober. Sadly, stuff like this kept happening, and it took me 3 more years to finally call it quits. Childhood friendships run deep and can really f*ck with your judgment. I still think about her all the time and miss her to this day." "Since he had spent months and months on the phone telling me that he wanted out of the relationship, I didn't know what was going on. So after the call, I texted him that I’d love to chat more about it, but ultimately said I was happy for him if he was happy. But after the engagement, he suddenly 'never had time.' Then, 3 months after their engagement, I texted him to ask how wedding planning was going. He said they were actually getting married in ONE WEEK! I was flabbergasted, and I genuinely thought his fiancée was pregnant. She wasn’t. He said the wedding was ‘only family,’ and that was the only reason I wasn’t invited. Still, I was devastated. I still sent a gift, wished them well, and said I was excited to hear about the wedding afterward. Then, a week after the wedding, his new bride texted me — not him, his WIFE. The text was a link to a Google Drive photo album of their wedding photos. It was NOT a small wedding. I don’t know what happened, but it feels like the moment they got engaged, his new wife decided we couldn’t be friends anymore. But she would still reach out to me to give me updates on their life. It was very strange. It broke my heart. I still invited them to our wedding, and he RSVP’d yes, but he backed out days before it. We've barely spoken since. I don't know what happened and I miss him so much."
