An iconic actor said, “While I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again.” As a staff writer at BuzzFeed, I write about all things celeb, pop culture, and books. In 2016, Kiefer explained why they called off the wedding, telling People, "We were both young, and we were both very much in love. We had decided that we wanted to get married, but then this other thing kind of took over. She was arguably the most famous woman in the world, and this wedding that was supposed to be something between the two of us became something so big. And then in the middle of that, I think she had courage. It wasn't what she wanted to do, in the end. And I think it took a lot of courage, in amongst all of that other stuff, to be able to say, 'I can't do this.'" However, Joe's rep denied this, telling TMZ, "After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce. The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago." Joe and Sophie's reps didn't respond to BuzzFeed's request for comment at the time. Bethany wrote about the decades she spent in the cult in her 2024 memoir Dinner for Vampires: Life on a Cult TV Show (While Also in an Actual Cult!). Her rep declined to comment to Page Six, but Eddie's rep told the outlet, "We won't comment any further on this." Carole Brown, Bobby's mom, said, "That is so far from the truth. If he had married somebody nobody knew — say, Kim — I would have been just as happy. I'm not starstruck, okay? For instance, at his wedding, everybody was running around saying, 'Did you meet this person? Did you meet Dick Clark? Did you meet so and so?' No, I didn't." Kim later had issues receiving child support payments from Bobby. Whitney alleged that he was abusive, which he denied. She said, "And right after the honeymoon, I started getting phone calls from these girls. I confronted him and he...denied it and never apologized." He said, "I was wrong for obviously lying, and I shouldn't have been in that position... I dealt with all this drama, and then at that point just realize… I finally got the balls to say, 'Hey, listen, I'm not ready for this, I'm sorry.' At that point, I was not ready to settle down. I wasn't man enough to know how to go about handling it." The "horrible" situation spurred Ali to make several positive life changes, such as taking more ownership of her modeling career. She told the Unfolding Leadership podcast, "I look back on that situation, which was horrible, and I thank God every single day, because it changed me as a woman. It changed the way…I walk through this world, 100 percent. I am so much better because that happened. I am forever grateful for that." In a statement, the actor's family said, "Since the health crisis of our beloved family member Quinton Aaron, we have raised some suspicions about the legitimacy of Quinton and Margarita's marriage to each other, as well as her legitimacy as a registered nurse. We have found some alarming details. We, as a family, believe Margarita isn't who she claimed to be to us. This has caused us to want to investigate her further." "As a Christian, I forgave her a long time ago because I didn't want to hold on to the anger and have it slow down my process of healing. I really do wish her well. I hope she gets the help she needs," he said. He also said that she "absolutely" told him she was divorced. He continued, "We would've never spoken if I knew she was married. I'm not the type of person that messes with married women. She kept telling me she was divorced for 10-plus years. ... It was supposed to be a legal marriage. Thankfully, the marriage was voided. I didn't need to annul it because we weren't legally married. I dodged a bullet there." He alleged that, before his stroke, their relationship was already on the rocks. He said, "We weren't in a good space. [There were] a lot of arguments and accusations and lies. I'd been praying for God to remove her from my life because I felt like I was stuck. I was done a long time ago. So I feel like if this was the final nail in the coffin, so to speak, the thing that had to happen in order to finally separate us, I was OK with it. I still [have] my life. I mean, I'm seated right now. I can't really do the things [and] everything I used to, but I can still do some. I still got some pep in my step when I get my step back." Margarita disputed his version of events, telling ABC News that she wasn't aware her divorce from her previous husband was never finalized, and it was all a mistake. Her former husband confirmed her story and said that they both believed their divorce had been finalized. He filed for divorce in February 2026. She told Good Morning America, "When I told Quinton back in the hospital bed, and I want to be very honest about this, I feel like this needs to be said and brought out there. I said to him, I said, 'Bibi, this information that your family pulled up on me, you know, I wasn't aware of it.' I said, 'This is what I found out. It is true.'" "But as bad luck had it, I was asked to present an award to Kanye West at MTV's Video Music Awards. I saw Bob on the red carpet, and he looked at me and said, 'Look what the cat dragged in.' Then I saw Tommy [Lee, her first husband]. He entered from another way — kind of sneaking in and taking a seat — and when I slipped past him to sit down, Tommy pulled me onto his lap. He was sitting next to the magician Criss Angel, and I asked Criss if he could make Tommy disappear. Bob saw the whole thing and was fuming from his seat across from us. After I presented the award to Kanye, Alicia Keys started singing her new single 'No One,' and at the lyrics 'Everything's gonna be alright,' Tommy and Bob dove at each other. Fists were flying, and the whole thing ended up on live TV. I walked out, and Alicia didn't miss a beat, kept on singing. It was a setup. MTV must have been thrilled. I told the press waiting outside that we were bamboozled," she wrote. And four years later, she told the New York Post, "When that happened, I thought, 'Forget it, this is more than I can handle — I'm never going to sing again.' I had to grieve through it... I don't see [Marie-Anne], ever. I don't invite that trigger into my life… She's not my future — she's my past." Discussing his participation in Jennifer's 2024 documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Ben told GQ, "Part of it was, 'OK, if I'm going to participate in this, I want to try to do it in an honest way and in a way that's interesting.' Because I thought it was an interesting examination. Like I mentioned to you before, there are a lot of people who I think have handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly than I have, Jennifer among them. My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. As happens in relationships, you don't always have the same attitude towards these things. And so I thought, Oh, this is interesting because how do you reconcile that? Because exactly what [the interviewer] said is true. I love and support this person. I believe in them. They're great. I want people to see that. And I think the thing that I said in that documentary or the piece that they used was where I said, You don't marry a ship's captain and then say, 'Well, I don't like going out in the water.' You've got to own what you knew going into any relationship. And I think it's important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture. It's not like you can watch that documentary and go, 'Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.'" In a statement to the British Press Association, Jude said, "Following the reports in today's papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us. I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused. There is no defense for my actions which I sincerely regret and I ask that you respect our privacy at this very difficult time." She also said that she was in such a state of "shock" that she can't recall six weeks of that period of her life. However, she handled the situation by taking legal action against invasive photographers. Sienna continued, "I'm pretty resilient. There were moments where it came close to making me really feel crazy, and it was incredibly aggressive. The way I managed it was to get really litigious, start suing. I secretly recorded paparazzi on a lighter that was a camera and got a privacy act taken to a high court to get the law changed in England, which essentially means that if I'm anywhere or coming out of anywhere where I can expect privacy, they're not allowed to take my photo. It was a long battle, and I think I was really paranoid. There was so much noise that it was hard to think straight and focus on my work, which I always took very seriously. It ate everything else. I look back on it and wonder how I did get through it — but I did." In another conference, Nick said, "I think it's best that me and D'Angelo handle the situation we have in a private manner outside the media. I think it's something we really do need to sit down and talk about. That's about it. What happened is what happened. We've got to work on it." In a statement, Loni replied, "I do not intend to engage in a media war. I have to consider the welfare and best interests of my little boy." Karina offered fans her "sincerest apologies" and promised to "show more maturity and work harder going forward to all [her fans] without disappointment." Many fans came out in his and Karina's defense, speaking out against rules and expectations that prevent many K-pop idols from publicly dating. Raquel also publicly apologized. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, she said, "I want to apologize for my actions and my choices foremost to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans so invested in our relationships. There is no excuse, I am not a victim, and I must own my actions, and I deeply regret hurting Ariana." Addressing the immense public support she received, Ariana said, "It's what kept me going. My friends and my family, you guys and strangers I've never met, it's honestly what kept me going. I had a week and a half where I didn't eat and lost, like, eight pounds. I couldn't do anything. I had someone stay with me every night because I felt like I needed to be babysat, honestly. I just can't think of two worse people, I can't." Both Ariana and Tom left Vanderpump Rules after Season 11. In 2025, she told People that she doesn't think about the scandal anymore. They kept their relationship under wraps as much as possible. Sammy's good friend, Arthur Silber, helped out by driving them to a Malibu beach house, sometimes with Sammy hiding under a blanket on the floor. Sammy also installed a private phone line at the hotel where he performed so he could call Kim without anyone listening in. When she went home to Chicago for the holidays, he flew out to meet her family. Unfortunately, word reached the gossip columnists. Meanwhile, Columbia purportedly demanded that Kim stop seeing Sammy, and they stationed guards at her home. She told Larry King, "And I thought, this is ridiculous, I don't want to live like this. I couldn't see what was wrong, do you know? What was so terrible?" Sammy was friends with Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana, who offered him protection in Chicago or Las Vegas. However, he had no sway in LA, so Sammy offered Loray White, a Black dancer he'd been on a few dates with previously, between $10,000 to $25,000 to marry him. After the wedding, Sammy drank a lot and became extremely distraught. Arthur stopped him from attempting to die by suicide and sat with him until he fell asleep. Sammy and Loray's marriage only lasted about a year.
