Former “Home Improvement” cast member Jonathan Taylor Thomas was arrested Monday morning in Westlake Village, California, and charged with obstruction and being drunk in public.

In a story first reported by TMZ, the 45-year-old former child star was a passenger in a car that was pulled over by local police.

Law enforcement officials told People that while deputies were dealing with the driver, “Mr. Taylor decided he would exit the vehicle.”

After deputies told the former teen idol to sit back down in the vehicle, he allegedly became uncooperative, failed to follow orders and obstructed the investigation.

Taylor was taken to a local jail and booked around 1:50 a.m. Monday morning, before being released 34 hours later.

HuffPost reached out to Thomas, but no one immediately responded.

No charges against Thomas had been filed as of Wednesday afternoon, and the identity of the vehicle and their arrest status have not been made available.

Thomas was a cast member on “Home Improvement” between 1991-98, but has kept a lower profile in recent years, though he did appear on TV dad Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing” sitcom a few times in 2013-15.

He also reunited with TV mom Patricia Richardson and TV brother Taran Noah Smith earlier this year.

Thomas isn’t the only “Home Improvement” cast member who has had some legal trouble.

Before he became famous, Tim Allen served two years in prison for drug trafficking, and Thomas’s other TV brother, Zachery Ty Bryan, pleaded guilty to felony assault back in 2023.
