Donald Trump may have repeatedly teased running for an unconstitutional third term as president in 2028.

But The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman just isn’t buying it.

“I truly don’t believe he will,” Haberman told The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta during an appearance alongside her “Regime Change” Trump tell-all book co-author Jonathan Swan at The Atlantic Festival at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York on Thursday.

“Absolutely willing to be wrong,” Haberman said. “It’s really important to acknowledge when we’re wrong, which all of us have been at various points in the last 20 years.”

“But I truly don’t believe it,” she continued. “I don’t think he wants that, and he doesn’t need it.”

Trump, who turned 80 in June, “will be the dominant figure” in the GOP “until he is no longer on this Earth, whether he’s in office or not,” Haberman predicted.

And he’s also “made more money than he’s ever made in his life during this presidency, at least just liquid, that we know of assets,” she noted.
