Fox News host Laura Ingraham made a wild accusation against Republicans running in the midterms, suggesting they’re content with losing control of Congress to avoid voting on President Donald Trump’s legislation.

Speaking with Larry Kudlow of Fox Business on Thursday, the pair complained about GOP candidates not highlighting the party’s accomplishments while on the campaign trail.

“One of the most incredible statistics is the Trump administration, in one year, has grown personal incomes more than Biden in four,” Ingraham said, citing Census Bureau data released this week.

Ingraham added that Republicans should be “screaming this from the rooftops.”

The host then levied a serious accusation at Republicans, claiming they are sabotaging their own chances.

“But how many Republicans secretly want Trump to lose?” Ingraham said. “I actually think there are a lot of Republicans on the Hill who will be happy not to have the burden of having to pass legislation, Larry. They’re almost going to be relieved for a little while, at least, to be in the minority. I’m sorry to report that. But there’s no other explanation for why they shouldn’t be on the offense on the U.S. economy.”

Ingraham isn’t wrong to be concerned about the GOP’s prospects in November, as the party currently trails Democrats in the generic congressional ballot by 8 percentage points, according to a New York Times-Siena poll released on Monday.

Trump’s overall approval rating isn’t doing Republicans any favors either, as, on average, he stands at a 38% approval rating, according to polling averages compiled by The New York Times.
