Prominent MAGA influencers raged on Thursday at a recent campaign ad from Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) in which she decried the impact that President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda has had on her district.

“Mr. President, some of your immigration enforcement efforts have gone too far. In July, 50% of the 50,000 people that were detained had no criminal record. Be careful what your advisors are telling you about immigration policy. The same Hispanics who helped you get to the White House in 2024 feel betrayed today,” Salazar said in the ad, which aired in both English and Spanish.

The ad represents a stark departure from Trump on one of his most prominent and controversial issues.

Trump had previously endorsed Salazar’s reelection in February, saying in a Truth Social post that the congresswoman was “doing a truly fantastic job representing the wonderful people of Florida’s 27th Congressional District!” and that she “knows the Wisdom and Courage required to confront the Corrupt Fake News.”

The president added that Salazar had his “Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election.” and “WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

Trump has yet to respond to this most recent ad, but recent polls show Salazar holding only a narrow lead over Democratic challenger Eliott Rodriguez.

Numerous MAGA influencers jumped at the opportunity to slam Salazar, calling for Trump to revoke his support for her in the midterms.

Anthony Sabatini, a MAGA activist and Florida county commissioner, even called for Salazar to be deported despite the congresswoman being a U.S. citizen.
