‘South Park’ Takes A Massive — And An Oh-So-Tiny — Swing At Trump In New Intro

Warning: Spoilers and NSFW content below. “South Park” on Wednesday brought a massive Donald Trump-like rebrand to the fictional Colorado community and gave the president a wee little cameo in the opening seconds of the Season 29 premiere. Trey Parker and Matt Stone — whose animated show has relentlessly trolled Trump and his pals — delivered on their previously announced move to change the name of South Park to “South America,” a knock at the president’s decision to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America.” In the show’s new intro, the town’s school and police station have embraced the change while the inspiration behind the rebrand, Trump, makes a brief appearance to nakedly floss his “teeny tiny” penis with the U.S. flag. That’s the most of Trump that fans see in the episode, which is titled “South American Biker Gangs” and takes place after the “South America” makeover. The episode’s plot — centered on a “vicious” gang of e-bikers in Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny, and parents who oppose them by starting a gang of their own — serves as a metaphor of sorts for right-wing talking points on immigration. Toward the end of the episode, Kenny dies when his e-bike blows up, leading South America to unite “in grief” and prompting the government to ban e-bikes. This tees up a country-western song referring to the town’s new name. “We are South America, where the cold north wind blows,” begins a singer as scenes of the parents’ cycling club selling “South America Strong” merch, and police seizing kids’ e-bikes, play out. “If you’re driving through our mountain town, I just think you should know. That we are South America and that northern mountain sun. Always be South America; we won’t change for anyone.” You can peep a clip of the song (beginning around the 1:22 mark) here.
