Fox News contributor Joe Concha on Tuesday suggested that TMZ hasn’t been forthright about its interviews with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) after a clip of her take on the Macklemore-Ed Sheeran tour controversy took off on X.

Ocasio-Cortez, when stopped by TMZ’s Charlie Cotton outside the U.S. Capitol building, revealed her plans to boycott Sheeran’s music after Macklemore was dropped as an opener on his tour in the wake of his pro-Palestinian, onstage comments.

The clip took off on X, accumulating 19 million-plus views and tens of thousands of likes from the original post along with likes from those quoting it.

Concha, who has served as a guest host on Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show,” gave his two cents on the tabloid’s interaction with the congresswoman.

“Amazing how TMZ always knows exactly when and where AOC will be when she leaves work,” wrote Concha on X.

“It’s almost as if these ‘interviews’ are staged beforehand.”

While Cotton has caught up with Ocasio-Cortez on several occasions since TMZ launched its D.C. bureau earlier this year, it’s common for lawmakers to interact with reporters outside the Capitol building.

It’s worth pointing out, too, that Fox News’ cameras captured Cotton’s exchange with Ocasio-Cortez and aired a clip of it on Tuesday’s edition of “The Five.”

Concha’s conspiracy talk prompted a wave of social media users to point out the location of the interview.

“Gee I wonder how they know where to find her,” replied an X user alongside a picture of the Capitol building.

“What yes of course they know are you stupid,” wrote another.

Cotton himself also responded to the host’s take, writing, “FYI Joe: all house members walk down the Capitol steps after votes to do media!”

And at least one critic delivered Concha a mock script, “They found a Congresswoman down at the steps of the her workplace, more news at 11.”
