Jake Reiner, son of the late actor-director Rob Reiner, is celebrating a new personal milestone.

On Monday, People reported that the 35-year-old actor and writer married his longtime girlfriend, Maria Gilfillan, last month. While the report is scant on details, the outlet notes the intimate ceremony took place in early August.

News of the marriage comes less than a week after Jake Reiner sat down with California’s KABC-TV for his first televised interview since the December 2025 murder of his parents.

People pointed out that the younger Reiner appeared to be wearing a wedding band during his chat with KABC-TV journalist Marc Cota-Robles.

Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Reiner, 70, were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14. Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was taken into custody shortly afterward and is currently facing first-degree murder charges in his parents’ deaths.

In February, Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to the murder charges, which carry a maximum sentence of life without possibility of parole or the death penalty. He is currently scheduled to appear in court Sept. 15 for a pretrial hearing.

In his chat with KABC-TV, Jake Reiner said he hasn’t spoken directly with his younger brother, whose experiences with drug addiction and mental health concerns were well-documented, since the arrest.

“You know, it’s like I physically lost my parents, and then Nick was arrested,” he said. “Now it’s just me and [my sister Romy Reiner].”

“My parents had unconditional love for all three of us, and I’ll never understand,” he continued. “I don’t care how it’s explained to me. I don’t care what facts come out. I’ll never understand why this happened.”

Though Jake Reiner said he had yet to fully “accept the reality” of his day-to-day life since his parents’ murders, he and his sister, a fellow actor, have gradually been making their way back into the spotlight. Last month, the siblings threw a ceremonial pitch at Los Angeles’ Dodgers Stadium in an homage to their father, a devoted Dodgers fan.

“He had season tickets to the Dodgers, and we would go anywhere from three to four games a week. It was just the greatest time with him,” Jake Reiner recalled to KABC-TV of his father, who directed “The Princess Bride” and “When Harry Met Sally,” among other acclaimed films.

“It was an emotional thing that we did, and it’s something that I don’t know if I could really take in in the moment because everything happened kind of fast,” he continued. “But I was really happy that we got to do that.”
