Conan O’Brien shared details on Monday about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s exclusive, private wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City when guest Andy Daly asked about “rumors” surrounding the July 3 nuptials.

O’Brien, who said he attended the wedding with his wife, Liza Powel O’Brien, said he has been “very discreet” to protect the couple’s privacy, but described it as a “wonderful, beautiful wedding” during Monday’s episode of the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast.

He threw some praise at fellow comedian Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony.

“Adam Sandler was brilliant and really sweet and perfection,” O’Brien said. “And I keep bothering him because we’re friends. I keep telling him how it’s one of the finest things I’ve seen a person do. He just hit the tone. He was funny. He was sweet. It was perfection.”

Noting that Swift and Kelce, both 36, were “lovely,” he continued, “[It] was very heartwarming. The whole thing was just absolutely beautiful. And people have said this, but I’ll just double down — It was really sweet and real.”

O’Brien added that at the reception there were places to sit, but people didn’t want to because “mostly people were standing and talking.”

He also shared that the musical performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks were “just fantastic.”

When asked if he gave Swift and Kelce a wedding gift, Conan teased that he gave the newlyweds a used rice cooker, before clarifying that he was joking and didn’t get them a wedding gift. “But I should have,” he added.

Elsewhere in the episode, Daly asked O’Brien to clarify some rules rumored to have been implemented at the wedding, including that guests were asked to arrive hours before the ceremony and that phones were seized before entry.

O’Brien called most of that “insanity” and “crazy,” but noted that it was a “good idea” for people to surrender their phones, which they did.

O’Brien and his wife were among an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance. Other stars, such as Tom Hanks, Selena Gomez and Steven Spielberg, also reportedly attended.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in an August 2025 Instagram post nearly two years after confirming their romance.
