"I was in a similar situation with my ex, who has a rep as the world's nicest guy and an all-around good person. While I didn't have recordings, I made sure to tell some of his family and all of our shared friends how mentally and emotionally abusive he was towards me when he was carrying on a lengthy affair at the end of our relationship.
