(NewsNation) — Conservative activist Laura Loomer believes parts of the GOP have been influenced by Russian and other foreign propaganda.

Loomer's remarks come after a recent trip to Ukraine, where she said seeing the effects of the war firsthand changed her views on the conflict. She said her perspective shifted after experiencing an air raid and hearing warning sirens.

Loomer also interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and said the experience gave her a new understanding of the war and what she now considers Russian propaganda that had influenced some of her previous beliefs.

Trump ups pressure on Senate GOP in Blanche fight

"I really have come to understand that everything that I was led to believe while living in this echo chamber, a very toxic echo chamber, that is supported by foreign governments," she told "Batya!"

Loomer said the problem has been amplified by what she described as "the amount of brainwashing that is taking place on social media platforms."

"American social media companies refuse to comply with sanctions law and they refuse to limit the tweets and the correspondences and the broadcasting of these entities that have been sanctioned," Loomer said.

While in Ukraine, Loomer said she spoke twice with President Donald Trump and shared details of her interview with Zelenskyy. She said she had also spent more than a year warning Trump and White House officials about individuals she believes are spreading foreign-backed messaging.

"I've prepared several very detailed reports on some of these personalities and the propaganda and the anti-Trump rhetoric that they have been pushing out to their audiences," she said.

"And unfortunately, because of their foreign propaganda and their incessant Trump hatred and their obsession with blaming Jews and blaming all of the world's issues on Donald Trump and Israel, so many people have been radicalized in the GOP. And so I've really made it a point to stress this to the White House," Loomer said.

Loomer said she was encouraged that Trump has publicly criticized figures including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens.

"I don't want to take credit for anything that Donald Trump has done because he's his own individual, and he thinks for himself, and he makes his own decisions," she said. "Despite preparing a lot of these reports for the White House, it's my understanding a lot of this information was not given to him or explained to him in full, which is alarming."

Loomer said Trump should take a harder line against individuals she believes are promoting foreign propaganda by enforcing stricter standards within his administration and political circle.

GOP cash edge: Will it make a difference in midterms?

"I think his biggest political liability and the biggest detriment to social cohesion within the MAGA movement and cohesion within the GOP as we head into these perilous midterm elections is making sure that you don't have this albatross around the party's neck," Loomer said.
