Marjorie Taylor Greene Turns Trump’s Go-To Insult Back On Him, With A Twist

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) this weekend put a MAGA-taunting twist on one of Donald Trump’s go-to insults. “I don’t have Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Greene wrote on X, referencing the derogatory term Trump and his allies often use to dismiss critics, which is NOT a recognized medical condition. She then added, “I have Trump Disappointment Syndrome.” See the post on X. Greene’s remark accompanied a video from an address she gave at a Ron Paul Institute conference in Texas last month, where she outlined her break with Trump on several issues, most notably his administration’s reluctance to release files related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a onetime close associate of the president. Greene claimed Trump contacted her after she signed a Democrat-led petition to force the release of the files. She said he instructed her to “take your name off that discharge petition,” claimed it was a “Democrat hoax” and allegedly warned that “my friends are going to get hurt.” “That’s when MAGA died,” Greene said. “That’s when the entire thing shattered for me.” Greene, who has a long history of promoting wild conspiracy theories and making inflammatory claims, has since become a vocal critic of Trump on the Epstein issue and his Iran war. Trump, in turn, has dismissed Greene as a “lunatic” and last week even made a snide comment about her to her fiancé, Real America’s Voice correspondent Brian Glenn.
