If you’re going to work to earn money, the stuff you buy should work for *you.*

As a Deputy Editorial Director for BuzzFeed’s shopping team, I love to get into the weeds of why a product’s worth the money by deep diving into customer reviews, and product-testing as much as possible.

You've got better things to do than cleaning out your Keurig machine, going at your tongue with a toothbrush, or even scrubbing your shower...just to name a few things. We have some products for that! And I put them (plus lots of other helpful items) in this list for you. So let's free up some of your time to finally visit a pumpkin patch, watch Widow's Bay, or just sit in silence and enjoy staring into space.

Promising review: "Okay, so these cleaner pods are awesome! I didn't know how gross our Keurig was until today. The big mason jar on the left is when I actually ran the cleaner through, plus one rinse cycle. The middle one is another rinse cycle, and the last one, on the right, is the last one I did. So yes, I would suggest running two or three rinse cycles instead of the recommended one. But it's still an awesome product for the price! I have a Keurig 2.0, and I had no issues." —Mads0421

Promising review: "This Baby Brezza has been one of the best purchases I have made for my baby. Prepare the bottle in seconds, with the perfect temperature and the exact amount of water and formula. It has saved me a lot of time, especially during the early mornings when the baby cries and needs to eat immediately.

It is very easy to use and clean. You just have to make sure to give it the recommended maintenance and it works wonderfully. I have never had problems with her and she has made my routine as a mother much easier.

I recommend it 100% to any parent who uses formula. Totally worth the investment!" —Osmaidy

Promising review: "Best foot callus remover I have ever used! I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing this product. Most callus removers I have purchased in the past were not very effective. So, I was encouraged by the reviews. I saw that a lot of reviewers mentioned being very careful not to leave it on longer than three or four minutes. My feet were the softest they had ever been. Love love love." —Cheri whisker

Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available three scents, including an unscented version, and also in an extra-strength formula).

Promising review: "I love WD-40 products and use them for everything. I spray on shovels to keep dirt or snow from sticking, spray around windows and thresholds to deter bugs, clean Sharpies off wood and walls, and, of course, stop squeaky doors. These small direct-point application pens are great. Keep one in the glove box, my kitchen 'junk' drawer, and the house toolbox." —BBP623

Reviewers love this because it doesn't require you to "smart enable" other parts of your home, and you can also set a schedule to automate different functions in your home! Also, just note if you want to connect with Alexa or Google Home, you'll need a Hub Mini.

Promising review: "This is exactly what I was looking for and had no idea it existed until I saw someone mention it on TikTok! Our front walkway gets pretty dark at night, and I was frustrated with trying to remember to turn on the light every evening and off every morning. I looked into those light sensors you can plug in, but our front porch light is under an awning with enough shade that it would have kept the light on 24/7. This little Switchbot solved the problem. I applied it to the indoor light switch and set the time on my phone. It has worked perfectly ever since." —Alecia McLochlin

Get it from Amazon for $25.99 (available in white or black and as a pack of three with a Hub Mini).

Get a box of six liners from Amazon for $4.59.

Promising review: "This is quite possibly the coolest, most versatile kitchen gadget I’ve ever owned. I love it so much that I’ve purchased two more for friends and relatives. What can it do? I think the real question is 'What can’t it do?' I truly believe you could replace every cooking appliance (including your oven and stove top) and do EVERYTHING in the Instant Pot. I purchased two sizes for my own use: the 3-quart (which is my almost-every-day workhorse for two person dishes) and the 8-quart (which I bring out to handle my dinner party dishes). Everything I’ve tried has been fabulous. In the realm of kitchen appliances, there is no better investment than the Instant Pot. Highly recommended!!!" —Stereoman

Promising review (from April): "Fabulous! we’ve already made pizza dough and bread…machine is almost too easy. I’m so happy that I can control the ingredients and I know what’s in everything. It’s so easy and simple. Very happy with the machine and perfect for breaking up with pizza delivery.

**Update 10/1** still super happy with this machine. We make pizza almost weekly (and now we are making our own sauce too!). I can't imagine how much $$ we have saved! I've also made cinnamon raisin bread and cinnamon 'buns.' Still working on presentation ;)" —Michelle

Promising review: "Unfortunately, I, like many, suffer from bad breath and have tried so many things to stop it. I read that sometimes it's the germs on your tongue that can cause it, so I went crazy trying to brush my tongue. Of course, we all know how that ends — gagging, watery eyes, and it still looks like that gross film is on your tongue. I finally decided that maybe it was time to get a tongue cleaner, and it had to be a stainless steel one because they are easier to clean and sterilize. This product is really easy to use, and I can get very far back on my tongue without activating my gag reflex. Also, it doesn't have the feeling that brushing with a toothbrush does. This cleaner just glides across my tongue, taking all the icky germs and bad breath with it. I love my nice new fresh breath and bolster of confidence!" —jordanlauren

I've been testing out the whitening version of this toothpaste, and it works just as well as any drugstore brand toothpaste without irritation. (I'll occasionally get irritation from whitening strips and treatments, and space them out because of it, but I've had none with this!) My mouth just FEELS cleaner when I use this, and it's even easier to use my tongue scraper after brushing, too! I think this has earned a spot as my new go-to.

Click & Carry is a Shark Tank and QVC-featured small business that specializes in easy carry accessories.

Promising review: "TikTok made me buy it. This is great when you have a few bags and a box — for example, if you balance the bags, you can throw it over your shoulder and walk inside and have two free hands to carry the box, which is great. Product seems well built, and is comfortable on your shoulder or hand because of the padding." —Hung

Wine Wash Co. is a woman-owned small biz that specializes in dishwasher attachments.

Promising review: "I had a hard time finding wineglass holders for my dishwasher. My previous dishwasher had built-in holders, but my current dishwasher does not. I got tired of having wineglasses break during dishwashing cycles. These holders are sturdy and fit the bill for standard glasses. They can fold up when not in use. I would not use them for expensive Waterford crystal wineglasses, but they are perfect for everyday glasses. A must-have for wine drinkers!" —Alicia

Wad-Free is a small biz that was launched during the pandemic. Cyndi, the founder, learned CAD (computer-aided design) to create the pads. And 5% of profits are donated to the American Brain Tumor Association.

Promising review: "Perfect for high-thread-count sheets. Saw on Shark Tank and gave it a try. They really work on my very smooth, high thread count sheets. These used to get tangled up in the washing machine. Always had to throw in some towels to keep them from twisting and wadding. With these clips, it's no longer a problem. Clever!" —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "Two weeks ago, I didn’t even know stone bath mats existed! But wow! What a game changer! I’m one of those people that avoid my cloth bath mat when it’s wet. Because eww! Now, I can take a shower right after my husband and not have to worry about stepping on a wet bath mat. The stone absorbs the water so fast! Can’t wait to upgrade my other bathroom mats." —Angela

I live in an apartment without a dishwasher, and I honestly use that as an excuse to order takeout food instead of cooking. But, as soon as I got my hands on a bottle of this stuff (regular Dawn is my go-to dish soap, BTW), I put it to use on both a saucepan I used to make homemade enchilada sauce *and* the casserole dish I baked those enchiladas, which had a ton of caked-on food. It really does work like I say it does! Like, scary well.

Promising review: "I had never tried this before, and I am so glad I did. It works great! Within seconds of applying it to my nails, the cuticle becomes soft, and I can remove it right away. I used to never remove my cuticles when doing my nails, I guess because I didn't really know how to, but since I started using this product, my nails look so good. I'm happy with the product and the results." —ABernal

Promising review: "We moved into our house a year ago and I’ve been on a quest to clean the grout next to the stove ever since then. As a last resort I got this and holy cow! I left it on for three minutes as a spot test at first and I could already see a huge difference. I then did two more rounds letting it sit for five minutes each. The scent's not bad, it was fine if I had the window open, it was just being down close to it that got me. Seriously, stop looking and buy this." —Britney Phillips

I've used this hack to get rid of coffee stains in white mugs with another brand's denture/retainer cleaners and found it's most effective when used with boiling instead of room temp water.

Promising review: "Not only does it work perfectly on my grinder guard, but I used it on a water bottle and a coffee mug, and it was perfectly clean. Had a mint flavor, so that’s the only reason I washed them. Got the coffee stain out and everything." —Rachel

The set comes with the following spice blends: Chicken Allrounder; BBQ Allrounder; Vegetable Allrounder; Italian Allrounder; Avocado Topping; Casserole Allrounder; Stir Fry; Mexican Allrounder.

Promising review: "These have been great to use. Cooking for just one person isn't the easiest thing for me, but these portions have been great when I want mac 'n' cheese, nachos, or a small smothered burrito for one. I'm sure when it's camping time these will make it into my camping stash." —M. Cheatham

Promising review: "I use these on our dishwashers when needed. They really clean them sparkling. Perfect. I highly recommend them. They took years of mineral buildup out of our dishwasher. And smell great." —Liz Germaine

Promising review: "I bought this so my puppies could traverse to/from their backyard pen area...and keep flying insects out. It is AWESOME! The puppies figured out quickly that they could go through the screen — the screen snapped back into a closed state immediately after they got through the opening. If only all things in life could be solved this easily!" —Lynette S Quigley

Promising review: "Before: three remotes, one for the screen (on/off), a separate one for the sound system (volume) and of course the fire stick remote. After: just the one convenient integrated unit. No more scrambling to find the which remote to do what I want, cause it's all right there in the one unit. I wish I'd have bought one years ago cause the multi-remote tango got old real fast." —Chapman B.

Get a three-pack from Amazon for $14.51.

My bathroom sink tends to stop up far too easily, and this does a drastically better job of clearing the gunk than Drano or Liquid Plumr. I also love that it's noncorrosive (I live in a pre-war apartment building with old pipes) and odorless (no one loves feeling like a bug being fumigated in their own home)!

Promising review: "I rent an apartment with older pipes, and the most useless hair-catchers known to man in my bathtub. I also happen to have a cripplingly large amount of hair — seriously, I'm like a 5'8" troll doll. Anyway, aside from burning out every vacuum cleaner I've ever looked at, my hair clogs drains. I needed something gentle enough to not damage the building's ancient pipes, but tough enough to melt the solid hunk of head foliage that had formed a blockade against my bathwater.

This was the perfect solution. Followed the directions and left it for about 45 minutes, then flushed it out with boiling water. Cleared things right up. When I inevitably have to clear the drains again, because my hair is thicc and sneaky, this is what I'll buy. No super caustic smell. Takes a bit longer than some of the harsher chemical stuff, but for me, the trade-off was worth it." —Elizabeth Topolosky

Includes a removable battery tester that doesn't require a battery. Holds up to 93 batteries of various sizes.

Promising review: "Okay, so I've seen these things in a store. I always thought they were kind of dumb and a waste of money. Let me tell you, this thing is AMAZING! We now own multiple of them. Holds AA, AAA, D, C, and even has a convenient little spot for the circle batteries. It's so nice not having a junk drawer or tub of batteries to sift through. If you love organization, you NEED to buy this. I didn't even know it came with a battery tester, that's pretty dang cool too, and it actually works. Love the clear design lid so you can see through to see what you are running low on. Keeps the batteries safe from water or other stuff getting all over them, too. 10/10 recommend!" —Patrick Ferrari

Get it from Amazon for $20.79+ (available in five colors).

Promising review: "Product is fantastic! Easy to install and set up. Now my power cords are up off the floor out of the way and are easily accessible for use. I just pull out the amount of power cord I need and when done it is an easy task to reel the power cord back into the holder bag. Also no more bending over to pick up power cord for my bad back! Am I a happy customer, you betcha!" —JamesR

Promising review: "The water recently changed in our areas, and I noticed this awful blue staining. I had used this back in August and let it sit overnight, and it worked wonders! It worked so well, I purposely let my shower get gross again to take a picture to share with others. I work a demanding schedule and do not have time for deep cleaning ALL the time. This works wonders without scrubbing and no horrific fumes. I bought it for my almost 70-year-old Mom, too. She was so sick of scrubbing. Now she uses it bi-weekly! Highly recommend!" —Amelia

It's super quick to install, and one cartridge can last up to three months!

Promising review: "I have hard water, and the constant ring in the toilet was super aggravating. This little thing took all of 30 seconds to install, and has kept my bowl ring-free for over a month now. I LOVE it. I can smell the bleach a tiny bit when the toilet is flushed, but that's not a bad thing; I kinda like that, as I know it's working. Also, excellent design that delivers on its promises. Please run and check out one of these for every toilet in your house." —AmazonShopper

Promising review: "Saw on TikTok (don’t judge) and automatically added to cart. So easy to use, takes probably a minute to fully bubble up and clean, and you’re left with a clean sink! I use with other drain cleaning products, but would 100% recommend for weekly maintenance." —Jessica Hamilton

Check out a TikTok of the foaming pink drain cleaner in action. One reviewer said it cleaned five sinks with one bottle!

Promising review: "Wow! I don't think I've ever been more excited to use a cleaning product before. Who knew you could get so much satisfaction from a drain cleaner. I could probably make an ASMR video and post it, as it is that satisfying! Even though I had to angle this over my sink drain, to avoid the low faucet, it worked perfectly. The foam went down the drain and up through the overflow, bringing lots of black, yucky gunk with it. I have used lots of drain cleaners before, but not one that actually came up through the overflow. I'd never even considered what stuff was in there. It did a great job of cleaning everything out and it left the sink smelling fresh and clean as well." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "I'm a clean freak with hard water, and this stuff took off the build-up like magic. I would recommend using a slightly damp scratch pad. It takes a little elbow grease, but I have tried a ton of products, and this one is the only one that worked!" —Lori

Promising reviews: "Clean freak–approved. These tablets give me peace of mind that my undishwasher-safe bottles and such are actually clean. I'm the person who washes my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, so having this second step of a cleaning process for the things that can't go in really makes me feel better." —Ally

Check out a TikTok of the Monday Dry Shampoo in action.

Promising review: "I was thoroughly impressed with this dry shampoo. It's affordable, effective, and everyone compliments how great I smell when I use it. Two bottles lasted me a few months. It does have a white cast, but that can easily be worked into the hair to become undetectable." —Meg B.

Psst — Batiste has had a version for brown hair for awhile. You can get that for $17.49.

Promising review: "I really like this faucet attachment. It was very easy to install, and I use it every day for washing my face and cleaning out my sink bowl. The different spray angles make it much more convenient than a standard faucet. The only thing to keep in mind is that it increases the water pressure quite a bit, so you'll need to get used to turning the faucet on more slowly to avoid splashing. Overall, it's a great upgrade and I'm very happy with it." —Hunter Elise Yegge

Promising review: "But my son has really thick and curly hair, no brush would be of much help with it. They would pull out his hair no matter how I brushed it. He would scream from the time he seen me coming with the brush until I was done. This brush has helped soooooo much. He will sit and watch TV every night while I brush through his hair and not mind it at all. The way the brush is designed and separates it don’t pull out his hair I love it and he loves it he even brushed his own hair with it. I definitely recommend this brush for anyone with thick curly hair!" —Danielle Beller

My friend Marissa bought one of these and is OBSESSED to the point that she started talking about it in a group chat. She's able to turn food scraps overnight into mill she just uses in her garden and yard. She's very Type A and would be fine with me calling her a clean freak, and she says it really traps all the gross food smells. She's not afraid to return something if she doesn't like it (especially such a big-ticket item), but she's totally hooked!

This contraption takes about four weeks to fill, can process up to 40 lbs. of food scraps, and reduces its volume by 80%. But if you want to work quicker, it can transform 1.4 pounds of food scraps into nutrient-rich mill in 2.5 hours. It only puts out about 41 decibels as it works, so along the lines of an air purifier.

Note that if you want to use your mill to feed chickens, you'll just need to avoid adding any food scraps that they couldn't eat to your recycler.

If you don't have a use for your grounds at home, Mill has a pickup program through USPS where you can ship your grounds to Mill's feed manufacturing facility, where it's turned into food for chickens. And you'll even get a report about it!

Get it from Mill for $999+ (available in three colors; you can also rent a white one for $35/month if you wanna give it a test drive).

Promising review: "When I tell you this thing is awesome, easy to clean, less messy, and my 4-year-old knows how to work it." —Jo

Promising review: "For those not fully familiar with how it works, what it's accomplishing is trying to surround your liquid with as much ice-behind-metal as possible. So, it has a center chamber of ice behind the metal, then an outer chamber of ice. The inner chamber fits inside the outer with about a cup's worth of space that's between the inner and outer chamber. This exposes your liquid to the greatest surface area of super-cold metal that they can, and since your liquid is only touching metal, and not the ice itself, it doesn't matter the temperature of the liquid poured in. You can pour in boiling water and while it may end up melting a bunch of the ice behind the metal, none of that water will mix with your drink. So, whether you're chilling a wine, dropping hot coffee to cool it off, or just wanting to rapidly drop the temp of that fresh lemonade you made without making it watery, this will get that done." —P. Ericksen

Get it from Amazon for $24.99+ (available in four colors).

Promising review: "The towel kept falling from the handlebar on the dishwasher. I got sick and tired of constantly picking it up from the floor. Saw this clip on Amazon — it is absolutely perfect. The towel stays in place, and I just love it." —Dee

It has automated self-emptying, self-washing roller mops, self-refilling, hot air drying, and more.

Promising review: "Very easy to use and set up, I like the auto detergent feature. It's missing features from other flagships, like being able to access the camera, being able to run mop-only jobs, or vacuum-then-mop jobs, which I would really like to see added in the future. I have a very pet hair-friendly home, and it's had no issue keeping up with that. No clogs to speak of so far. I did have some dog fluff get tangled in the extendable brush arm, but it was easy enough to remove. Obstacle avoidance is okay; it sees larger objects and avoids them. It pulled the cable out of my electric couch, which was probably hard to see as it was black against a dark floor; other cables it avoided well. It's navigated under chairs and tables, which was a pain point on previous vacs, that was really good to see. It got stuck on a coat rack leg, which was odd but again not a big deal. Overall, I'm very happy with its performance, no hair tangles on the brush roller, and it uses mopping water efficiently. Areas of improvement will likely come in later revisions, such as better cameras/obstacle avoidance, more mopping pressure, etc. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and think it's one of the best options for your money in the sub $1000 price point." —Zero3
