Border Czar Tom Homan said Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) could definitely be denaturalized and deported if allegations of immigration fraud are true, while also suggesting she may be under investigation for other matters. Homan told Fox News the government has a “strong case” against the Somali American progressive but offered little to no details as he appeared on “The Big Weekend Show” to talk about the federal agents’ raid on the congresswoman’s home in Washington, D.C. “We’ll let the evidence leads where it leads, but she’ll be held to the same standards you and I are held: If she violated the law, then she should be held accountable,” President Donald Trump’s border boss said. Asked if that could include stripping Omar of her citizenship and having her deported, Homan said, “Of course,” making him the first top Trump official to explicitly mention that possibility since Monday’s raid. “If you lie during the naturalization process, there is a process to denaturalize somebody,” he said. “We’ve done it before, it’s a long, tedious process, but it’s been done before. I’ve been involved with those investigations before, and certainly, if the evidence points that way, that could happen.” Homan would not comment when asked if authorities were looking into anything beyond the immigration fraud claims, practically smirking as he told the table of Fox News anchors, “I’m not gonna go there ... that’s a question for the FBI.” Omar, who has been a target of Islamophobic attacks by Trump and allies for years, denounced the raid as a blatant “attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement” in a statement on X. “For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation,” she wrote. “I will not be silenced.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
