This tunnel bed does *quadruple* duty as a playtime toy, a snoozing area, a hiding spot, and a Christmas tree base — now that’s impressive.

As a shopping editor with over a decade of experience working in journalism and digital media, I cover everything from beauty and fashion to home, travel, gaming, and pets, and I'm constantly saving interesting products on TikTok (in *very* organized folders, mind you) to share with BuzzFeed readers.

Whether you're a longtime cat owner or new to the world of feline cohabitation, it can be hard to navigate all the different brands and options out there to know what cat products are worth your time. From daily essentials and problem-solving products to toys that'll make them bounce off the walls with joy, these products have won high praise from cat owners and are actually worth the purr-chase.

The middle of the tube has a plush cat bed in it, so they can also take cat naps there if they prefer to use the tunnel for play. You could also lay a blanket in the tunnel for added comfort!

Promising review: "We assembled this cat tunnel under the Christmas tree, and not only does it prevent/deter them from climbing and messing with ornaments, but they LOVE to run through, lounge, and play inside. We highly recommend!" —Krissy

Get it from Amazon for $21.10+ (available in four patterns). And here's a fluffy white option that would also look cute around a tree!

These have sold out around Christmas time for the past few years, FYI, so if you want 'em, now's the perfect time to get a pack! They can hold even your heavy ornaments (up to 10 pounds).

Promising review: "As a cat owner of two lovely (but devious) cats who have a knack for eating and swiping at things they aren’t supposed to, I knew these would do the trick to prevent me having to redecorate our tree every day. They came in quick and blend in with our tree perfectly. I love these! Although they are on the pricier side, my cat can jump up in our Christmas tree, paw at ornaments, and even attempt to eat our tree and the ornaments aren’t budging. Whoever invented these had troubled pet owners in mind! They hold amazingly and I’m sure they will last for many Christmases to come." —Amaya F.

The tens of thousands of 5-star Amazon ratings are reason enough to add the ChomChom to your cart immediately — but let me add my own personal review to the stack. I've been using the ChomChom for quite a while now, and I took the photos above to show just how quick, easy, and effective this roller is. It took 10 seconds to rid my velvet couch ottoman of the hair my two gray kitties are constantly leaving everywhere. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of using this roller — at first, I thought you only brushed down in one direction, and was confused why it wasn't picking up hair. It's important to do a push-and-pull brushing in *both* directions so it actually pulls the hair inside, which does require you to apply a bit of pressure. Afterward, you'll just dump out the hair that's been trapped inside. The ChomChom is best for large flat surfaces like couches and beds.

I've been using this trapper mat for over a year now, and while it's pretty much impossible to eliminate all litter from your home if you own even one cat, let alone multiple, this mat has made keeping the floor of my litter box room MUCH more manageable. Unlike other mats, where the litter just kind of sits on top and eventually gets kicked elsewhere, this mat is designed so that the litter falls through the holes and stays inside the mat until you're ready to dump it. It's made out of an EVA material that's supposed to be gentle enough for cat paws, and my two kitties don't seem to have a problem walking on it. I *highly* recommend getting one of the larger sizes (I have the 30-by-24-inch mat) to extend the coverage area. Note that the mat will probably have a fold down the middle when it first arrives, but just give it some time and weigh it down with something if needed; it'll lay flat.

Carpet messes are undoubtedly the worst to clean up — it's "funny" how they always choose to have their accident there — but you can also use this on clothes and other surfaces like concrete and hardwood. Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully for non-carpet use.

When it comes to my own experience with Rocco & Roxie, well...let's just say we're no stranger to cat accidents 'round these parts, and I keep this stuff stocked at all times. Between my younger one's hairballs and my older one's vomiting, I've accidentally stepped in piles of yuck more times than I care to count, and this bottle is what I reach for whether the mess is on my hardwood floor or carpet. It always lifts the stain, without any detectable odor left behind.

To install, just hook the cat perch into the rail of the window, push the brackets forward until they rest against the wall, then tighten the thumb screws.

Check that your window matches the size requirements on the listing before buying! There's a helpful graphic (second photo on the listing) that shows the dimensions required.

Promising review: "My cats are obsessed with these window beds. I have now ordered several of them to have in different rooms. Easy to put together and sturdy enough to hold several 12+ pound cats." —Laura Williams

Promising review (get ready, this is my favorite cat name ever): "My cat Gambino Bambino would let you brush him bald!!! He loves to be groomed and comes running whenever the brush comes out. Though we love to accommodate, I know he wanted more. He was constantly rubbing his cheeks and ears on the corner of our walls to get even more scratching. I finally came across this product and knew he would love it! It took a little convincing, but once he got the hang of it, he’s been loving it! We have one in the living room, one in the kitchen, one at the top of the stairs, and one in the guest room! He is having a great time!!! Very easy to put together and place on the wall." —Anonymous

This is THE cat bed, y'all. Neither of my cats have ever really taken to a cat bed and much preferred to doze on their cat tree or curl up on a regular blanket — until I finally caved in and bought the Aspen self-warming bed. IMMEDIATELY upon placing it on my couch, one of my cats crawled into it and happily began napping. As soon as he moved away, my other cat jumped in to take it for a test run as well — and immediately curled up as well. After about a week of them taking turns using it (literally, the cat *not* in the bed would lay next to it waiting for the other to leave — my polite boys 🥹), I realized I needed to buy a second one. They immediately took to that one as well, and now, they both have access to their favorite bed whenever they like!

Whenever I put my hand underneath them, I can definitely feel how warm they are underneath, so the bed's self-warming feature seems to work well. I think what they love most about it is the shape and how unbelievably cushy it is. And the sides of the bed are supportive enough for them to put their heads on, but still flexible enough for them to stretch out however they like. I love knowing they won't be cold at night, especially when I'm away from home. Knowing I'll never have to waste money on another cat bed that sits unused is just the cherry on top. Highly recommend!!

Promising review: "Have you ever wanted to see a feline version of Tony Hawk (without the skateboard)? Buy this piece of wire and cardboard paper, and your dream will come true. There's not much of my furniture and walls that I HAVEN'T witnessed my kitty doing wall walks and flips off of in order to chase this toy. Not only that — she puts so much super-feline effort into catching this toy that she ends up PANTING and having to take little rests every minute or so. When my husband first purchased this cat toy, I rolled my eyes, thinking it would be completely ignored by our cats and end up in the garbage. Now I know it is the only surefire way to get my cats up and moving, playing, exercising, and bonding. Best cat toy on the planet!! Buy two or three, because they will need to be replaced after a little while, depending on how much your kitty chews on the cardboard bits." —Valarie

I've had this post for several years, and it gets plenty of use from both of my cats, who love to fully stretch out while they scratch. The base really holds it down and doesn't wobble when in use, and I'm currently keeping it next to my sofa so they're encouraged to scratch on the post instead of my furniture — it works! All in all, a very solid option if you've yet to get your cat a scratching post, which is def an essential unless you like claw marks on your sofa and chairs.

Promising review: "A must-have for ALL pet owners. This contraption is genius and will save cat (and dog) owners huge amounts of time and frustration retrieving toys. We used this beneath our oven and it works PERFECTLY. Cat can't destroy it (the way she shredded the foam insulation we had stuffed under there before), and we no longer have to get the yardstick out when literally all of her toys are 'gone.' Yes, this is a challenge to install, but 100% worth it. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat." —Allison Goldstein

These lickable cat treats are such a crowdpleaser — even Chicho, who generally turns his nose up at crunchy treats, loves to get in on the action whenever I offer him one of these lil' tubes. It's so easy to tear open a pack, and I love being able to feed the treat to them directly like Go-Gurt. They also came in clutch a while back when Sneaky (who was later diagnosed with a low-grade form of lymphoma) stopped eating and was throwing up from his stomach being so empty. The Churu lickable treats were the only thing I could coax him into eating — and while they're not a replacement for meals, they're high in moisture and were able to tide him over until his vet visit. And if you have to give your cats medications regularly, these can help disguise the flavor.

And for mess-free dispensing, grab this cute spoon dispenser! I have a similar one and it's made giving my cats Churu so much easier. I recommend having one per cat for simultaneous feeding, because otherwise they'll fight over a single spoon.

Seriously, using this should be part of your regular routine if it's not already! You can start with just one or two nails at a time to get them used to the process, and of course, be sure to give them a treat afterward 😊

Promising review: "I have a new adult cat that I rescued who was scratching everything in sight. I ordered these and immediately sat her down to start work. I was terrified I was accidentally going to hurt her but it was so easy for both me and her!! I had to do one paw at a time because she started to squirm from being held still too long, but they worked great and I’m so happy with them!" —blushingsooner

I've been using these for YEARS, and they have held up well for storing my cats' wet food in the fridge as well as for covering any other open cans — particularly useful for those recipes that, for instance, call for 6 ounces of something and you only have a 10-ounce can. I've never had a can not fit one of these lids. I love them because they don't just keep things nice and fresh for longer; they also keep the smell from spreading around my fridge, *and* they're reusable — I just pop them into the dishwasher after use.

Promising review: "Our cat was destroying the corner of our brand-new sectional, so I was excited to try these out. I didn’t want to try sprays or anything with pins that puncture the couches. I was a little worried about the quality of the adhesive, but the screen has been holding up and my cat no longer scratches that corner. There are plenty of screens in the package to add more if she finds a new spot." —NKakanis

KittySmart is a small business that invented the Carpet Scratch Stopper so scratched carpet would never be a concern, hoping to reduce declawing in cats.

Promising review: "With four cats in my home and four bedrooms, we found early on not to close any of the doors...but sadly it was too late. I really needed to replace the carpet in all four rooms, but just couldn't do it because I knew the cats would eventually just shred the thresholds up again. Until I found this product! I finally took the chance and replaced all of the carpet in the bedrooms and prayed that these would work, and they DID! It's been a couple of months now, and the carpet is perfect. I think the cats finally figured it out and don't even bother with them anymore. Whoever came up with this idea is genius!!!" —Collaboratories LLC

BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Jessica Hall vouches for this tower: "I didn't want the regular, less-than-appealing tan tower that was in my old apartment, so I searched for a while to find one that was cute but still tall enough for my cats to run and play on. I was so excited when I found this one because it is still over four feet tall and has a bunch of different soft and comfy places for them to take naps. We had to turn the little hammock part around because the space we were putting it in was too narrow, but it still works totally fine and has become the favorite nap spot of Alfie."

Promising review: "Our very large cats adore it. I have an 18-pound Ragdoll and a 14-pound Angora. They love this new scratcher, and each has their own favorite spot. It is easy for them to get up on, scratch, and gives them separate spaces to rest. They love this way more than their old scratcher. Also very sturdy for our big boy who likes to WHOMP up on the cat scratcher." —L. G. Saya

Promising review: "I had this one saved in my cart for a while and finally decided to get it. My cats LOVE IT. They have a blast climbing up the pole with their claws and lounging around on the platforms. It's an excellent way for them to get energy out. Highly recommend." —Brittni

Promising review: "Many years ago, I had a Diaper Genie for when my son was in diapers. Imagine my surprise at finding the Litter Genie. It's ingenious. I'm so glad I found it. It's so easy to set up and use. I have it timed so that the waste goes in the trash once or twice a week, which is a lot better than every day. The refills are pretty economical; they last a long time and are easy to replace. I don't know how I did without it. Thank you, Litter Genie!!!" —K.C. Clancy

I've been using these for ages now and totally swear by them for scooping my cat's litter! Truly, I've used other types of bags (like those green doggy waste bags) that ended up just making my kitchen trash can smell, so I can tell the difference with these. I personally take pride in the fact that my home *doesn't* smell like cats when you walk in, and these are an important tool in my efforts around that!

Promising review: "I have three cats, two litter boxes, and scoop both once or twice a day, depending on my schedule. I throw my bags away into my lidded kitchen garbage can and take my trash out to the dumpster (apartment living) every two days. In over a year of doing this, I've never noticed litter odor escaping from the poop bags and into the garbage can. Even when they’d be close to the top, and I’d step on the pedal to toss something else away, I’d always get any food odor or cat food can stink, but never litter waste." —shadowbox86

Get a pack of 90 from Amazon for $18.60 (also available in multi-packs — I usually stock up on the two-pack with 180 bags because it's a better deal).

Promising review: "We've been fostering kittens for six months. Having multiple cats in the house was only problematic when it came to the smell of the litter box, despite cleaning it several times a day. I tried every type of litter on the market to determine which was best. None really worked that well to rid the smell. I was told about Sprinkle & Sweep by someone I work with. It has been a lifesaver. I only use a couple of tablespoons per litter change. I'm now only changing the litter box twice a day, and even when it is full, it doesn't smell. I've never seen or heard of anything more effective on the market. I've also started using it for my compost bin and when my trash cans smell. I highly recommend it." —Amazon Customer

I decided to finally give these cord protectors a go recently and can absolutely vouch for their effectiveness. One of my cats was a notorious cord chewer and particularly loved going to town on the charging cable for his automatic water fountain — you can check out the damage above. I was getting to the point where I was afraid it'd stop working entirely, so I ordered these protectors in the 1/2-inch size. They snap on and off *so* easily — flexible enough for removal, but thick and durable enough that your kitty's teeth are no match against the thick wire loom. Sneaky pretty quickly realized he'd finally been defeated once he discovered these on his favorite chewing spots (I also applied a protector to my poor MacBook charging wire, which was another target), and he pretty much stopped chewing entirely after that.

I like that these come in multiple colors as well as different lengths and sizes so you can order as much as you actually need. You just snip off as much as you need for a particular area, so I used a shorter piece for my water fountain cable and a much longer one for my MacBook charging cable to protect the whole area. I ordered the 1/2-inch diameter ones, but you could definitely go down to the 1/4-inch or even 1/8-inch sizes if you're only planning to cover a single thin cable so it's not quite as bulky as mine looks above. If you're planning to cover multiple cables at once, you'd want to stick with the bigger sizes.

My cats ADORE this toy and beg me to pull it out so they can play with it almost every morning. They love batting at the butterfly — its erratic movements drive them wild — but they also love laying on their side to catch the feather that zooms left, right, and all around. And sometimes when they're tired of playing, they literally just lay on it (as shown above)...they love it so much. Side note: I influenced my brother's partner to buy this toy for her cat, who ALSO loves it — and even my brother's senior pug ended up liking it. 😂

The fact that most of the feather toy is hidden underneath the patterned cover (so they can't see what's controlling it) is a genius design, and I'll also mention that my cats haven't been able to destroy this toy yet either — though the brand does sell replacement parts thankfully. The battery lasts a long time, and it charges conveniently via USB-C, which I appreciate!

The mat also has a thermal base for lounging and naps, and can trap some loose fur and dander. It folds up for storage or travel, too.

Promising review: "Not in a million years would I have believed that I'd spend this much on a cat toy! But I also didn't expect the energy level of the kitten chosen for us by the cat distribution system. I needed to find enrichment that would add joy to his life and peace to mine, and the elderly cat who now calls him a little brother! If you have a cat with high energy and high curiosity as well as a need for NEW things, this is worth every penny, and you won't regret the decision to purchase. Every morning, I reconfigure this mat and hide some of his toys in it. Every day, he spends a great deal of time pouncing on it, hiding toys in it, finding toys in it, and resting on it. The SnugglyCat Ripple Rug is the simplest and most amazing cat enrichment ever." —Cindi

Get it from Chewy for $50 (available in four colors and also in a luxe version).

Promising review: "WOW!!! I brushed the cat with our regular brush and got a bit of fur...then I used the glove and got enough fur off that cat to knit a wig for my bald head! AMAZING!!!! The cat purrs and seems to enjoy the process, or maybe she just likes all the new attention she gets from everyone wanting to see how much fur we can get off her..... poor cat looks like she's lost 10 pounds. The best part of this whole thing is that there aren't cat hairballs all over our hardwood floors. We can pick up the cat without a cloud of hair trailing behind us. This product is every bit as good as described." —GS

I have this exact toy for my cats, and it's easily their favorite thing to play with — and they have a lot of toys. I first noticed they loved string because they tore apart a mouse toy that was basically string wrapped around a plastic mouse shape — they didn't care about the mouse, but they loved the torn-apart string (aka literal trash at this point). I got this rainbow toy because I realized they really just wanted to chase long tail-like objects, and they sure do light up whenever they see me pick up this wand and know that it's playtime. I love that it's long, so I can just sit on my couch and whisk it around the area, and even shy little Chicho, who likes to sit further back and watch while his brother plays (as seen in the gif above), can still bat at it. It's a super simple toy, but the amount of joy it'll probably bring your kitty is worth every penny.

I love this brand for storing my cats' dry food — especially the fact that their products are made of food-safe polypropylene, aka BPA-free. I got the smallest size this container comes in so it would fit above my fridge, sliding out easily for mealtime when I need to scoop out their portions, and I wash it out with soap and water every time before adding more kibble to keep things fresh. Some people also like to put the bag of food directly inside this for added protection / freshness, and that's a good option too! Though one of my cats loves to sniff around this, he can't tear into it like he used to with regular bags of cat food, so I can leave it out without worry.

Since this pad was designed for both cats and dogs, it comes in a wide range of sizes — I have the extra small, and it should be the perfect size for most cats. I used to keep mine on my old cat tree on a flat platform, which turned it into the comfiest dozing spot and their favorite spot on the tree! When I have to take a cat to the vet, I love to throw this pad in their carrier — not only does it provide extra cushioning, but it also has the comforting smell of home they'll recognize even when I have to take them to the scary vet clinic. If you have a window perch, this would also work great on top of that, too! FYI, I've also run this pad through the wash with no issues.

I picked this air purifier up a while back to help manage the ~smell~ that sometimes wafts from my cats' litter box when it starts to get full, and to help keep my NYC apartment air cleaner in general. I'm also (lol) extremely allergic to cats, and though I get allergy shots for this, it's also nice to help cut down on the pet dander for myself and any visitors with allergies. This thing makes a DIFFERENCE. It cuts down on any noticeable smell from the cats, my air feels cleaner, and my allergies are usually nonexistent in the apartment.

I was *especially* grateful to have this when Canadian wildfires brought smoke all the way down to NYC, where the AQI (air quality index) was over 400 at some points (for those who don't know, that's BAD). It helped keep the air inside my apartment as clean as possible, which made me feel better for myself and my kitties. Oh, and it's fairly quiet — it basically functions as white noise, which can be handy if you run this at night in the bedroom too.

Depending on your usage and environment, it's recommended to replace the filter every 3–6 months — replacements are available on Amazon. (You can see the difference between my old filter and a new replacement one above!)

Cats who like to tear big holes in litter box liners make them pretty much pointless to use, but reviewers say these heavy-duty liners are sturdy enough to withstand the shredding.

Promising review: "This is a lifesaver! I wish I’d discovered these sooner; it would have saved me several unpleasant litter box cleanings. It’s very sturdy and thick enough to withstand my cat’s feverish scratching and burying. This is especially great if you have friends cat-sitting for you, as they can just throw away the bag to avoid having to deal with the litter." —Gabriela

Former BuzzFeeder Mallory Mower says, "This flopping fish toy is beloved in our home. My two cats love it equally (which has never happened before) and when I say LOVE it, I mean it! I now own multiple fish that just chill on the floor in different rooms 24/7 because the moment I found a cat toy they actually played with...I embraced it wholeheartedly!"

Promising review: "I'm never sure if a new cat toy will be received as well as I hope, but this one sure delivered! My three cats have been playing with it almost non-stop, except for when I have to take it away to charge it. It took them a few minutes to realize that they had to touch it to get it to move when it stopped flopping, but once they understood it, they were off to the races. I can't speak to the durability of it, but since the cover can be removed for cleaning, I'm thinking it should last a long time." —Amazongal

Having had multiple cats with cancer and other chronic conditions, I'm well-acquainted with giving daily meds. It's never fun, but having a good pill cutter around is a non-negotiable at this point because of how much easier it makes the process, even compared to using a regular knife. One of my cats used to take a medication that comes in pills that are *already* super small, and he could only get a *quarter piece* every 72 hours, and that would be pretty much impossible without having a pill cutter on hand. Of course, you can use this for human meds too if needed!

Simply B Vermont is a small business located in, you guessed it, Vermont. They make all kinds of adorable pet accessories and toys for cats AND dogs.

I love these little felt ball toys! My cats are both suckers for balls that they can bat around, and the catnip only makes these all the more enticing. The refill tin is a genius design. I just recommend storing it out of reach of your babies, because one morning I woke up to catnip scattered all over my floor — Chicho had broken into the tin and ripped the bag. Pair this with a good toy stopper so they won't disappear underneath all your furniture, and you'll have a reliable (and pretty!) toy that should last a long time.

Promising review: "This pet hair remover really exceeded my expectations. I have a cat who sheds more than any cat I have ever known. I expected this product to remove some hair from our furniture, but leave a good deal of hair behind. Wow, I was wrong. It removes all of the hair my pretty kitty leaves behind. Cleaning is easy; just pull the pet hair off the product. This is well made and has rubbery teeth, which won’t harm your furniture, leather, etc. Plus, there are many cool colors to choose from!" —Lynne Texas

Promising review: "As far as the flavor goes; the kitties seem to find it top notch! Was tall enough after only five days; but we held off for day six to make sure 'little destroyer' didn't pull it out by the roots! The cup opening keeps the shoots tight together unlike some you buy in the pet store. We couldn't be more pleased. The wide design of the bowl will also help prevent whisker fatigue, which is when their whiskers get irritated from being touched or stimulated too much.

Promising review: "I have always had a problem with my one cat vomiting undigested food. My vet told me she was probably eating too fast. I stumbled upon an ad on Facebook stating the bowl position was the reason for cats vomiting; bowls resting on the floor put their neck at an odd angle and can cause acid reflux. I’ve used them for about two weeks and my cat has not vomited once! It was almost a daily occurrence prior to purchasing these! I did have to rest their old bowls inside these to get them to eat. But after a few days, I could put the food directly into these bowls and they did not complain." —kindlefire09-8

We center readers over revenue, recommend products with authenticity (using real experiences, not ad-speak), and reflect our diverse audience, inclusive of a variety of price points, people, and needs. We cut through fake deals, favor useful info over glossy fluff, and recommend both budget and splurge options with context so you can decide what’s right for you — and still have a little fun along the way.
