President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that Kimberly Guilfoyle’s days as U.S. ambassador to Greece may be numbered. Asked during a press gaggle outside the White House if he was considering firing her, the president replied, “We’re looking at it, yeah. We’re not happy.” Trump on looking into the firing of Kimberly Guilfoyle: "We're not happy." pic.twitter.com/5fHThJjipq Reports emerged over the weekend that an “extremely pissed off” Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were pondering Guilfoyle’s dismissal. Trump had recently offered sympathetic comments on the accusations against Guilfoyle, who was previously engaged to Donald Trump Jr. “It’s too bad,” the president said. “She was always very nice.” Guilfoyle faces a slew of accusations over unethical behavior ― many of which were contained in a Wall Street Journal report. She allegedly asked Trump donor Eric Deters to pay off her $100,000 credit card debt before her confirmation hearing in exchange for access to the administration ― and proposed that the sum be wired so it would go undetected. She reportedly promoted the interests of a Greek construction company and permitted its lobbyists to attend diplomatic meetings. She also was reportedly caught on tape bragging about her power to “deliver the world” to a businessman and make him “a lot of fucking money.” Guilfoyle also endured personal embarrassment this week when the Daily Mail published purported texts from her that assail Trump Jr.’s wife, Bettina. “She’s a cloud chasing horror,” she wrote to Deters in September 2024, according to the tabloid. The exchange followed a report that Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson were spotted kissing at a restaurant. Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. were still publicly together at the time.
