MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough and colleagues roasted President Donald Trump for his unfiltered admiration of Sen. Jon Husted’s “ass” during an Ohio rally the night before. But the “Morning Joe” headliner also made a serious point about the president’s obsession with appearance during public events. (Watch the video below.)

“When you invite a president to come in during a midterm election, when you’re in trouble, possibly losing, this is not on the top of your list of things you want the president of the United States to come in and talk about at your rally,” Scarborough said on Tuesday.

With Republican Husted locked in a tight Ohio race against former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown amid the possibility of both the House and Senate turning blue, Trump uttered this to the crowd in Youngstown:

Trump: I don't do this with men very often. I started examining his body. I looked at his ass and I looked at the whole— look at his hands. pic.twitter.com/6L5WjFY1gC

“I’m standing over here, and I don’t do this with men very often. I started examining his body because I didn’t know he was a great athlete. And I looked, and I watched up and down. And I looked at his ass. ... And then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these, like, claws. And I got it. You are a great athlete.”

Scarborough noted the commander-in-chief has become “quite the admirer of the male physique” from “jawline to rear end.” The host said, “This is out of a Village People video.”

Cohost Willie Geist tried to wrap his head around the fact that Trump was “checking out the ‘ass’ of a U.S. senator” while colleague Jonathan Lemire got cheeky.

“I’m gonna go the other way on this ― Jon Husted has a great ass,” he said.

Scarborough and Geist attributed Trump’s riffing to the 80-year-old president’s “filter” leaving with age.
