Donald Trump made what critics suggested could be one of his most outlandish boasts yet during a 2026 midterm campaign rally in Ohio this weekend.

The president, while touting his controversial promise of a $5,000 payment to every American citizen if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate this fall, told the crowd:

“I know more about everything than anybody in this room, anybody anywhere in the world.”

Trump: "I know more about inflation, I know more about everything than anybody in this room. Anybody anywhere in the world. Well, there's a woman sitting right over there. Trump then singled out a woman in the audience as he continued:

“Well, there’s a woman sitting right over there. She’s a housewife but she’s very good. She’s got a natural instinct for business. She perhaps knows more than I do but I actually don’t think so.”

The eyebrow-raising boast and comment about the woman quickly drew ridicule on social media.

Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan responded with just two words: “25th Amendment,” which lays out the process for removing a president from office.

The most extraordinary part of this speech is that he briefly considered the possibility that another human being possessed knowledge before deciding that was ridiculous.
