Karoline Leavitt Is Joining Fox News In A New Role

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, and she’s expected to start Nov. 1. “Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,” Suzanne Scott, the chief executive of Fox News Media, said in a statement Monday. In a statement published to her Instagram account as a story, Leavitt promised she’d bring to the network “unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defied my tenure.” Leavitt is expected to provide commentary across numerous Fox News shows, according to The New York Times. Leavitt, 29, was the youngest person to be appointed press secretary and was extremely loyal to President Donald Trump — who has an adversarial relationship with the press. Leavitt, much like her boss, was often flippant and combative with journalists the president didn’t like — and would often mock the press, dodge questions and push false claims on the administration’s behalf. In October 2025, Leavitt responded to a HuffPost reporter’s question with a “your mom” joke. Leavitt’s attack-dog energy during her 19-month tenure deepened Trump’s appreciation, with the president describing her in August 2025 as a “star” who has lips that move like a “machine gun.” In August, when Trump announced Leavitt’s decision to leave her position at the White House shortly after her return from maternity leave, the president seemed a little salty about Leavitt’s supposed reasoning. “She decided she loved her children more than she loved Donald Trump. I’m very upset about this,” Trump said in a thinly veiled joke at the White House. Now, however, she does seem to have enough time to work at Fox News. Leavitt will join Dana Perino and Kayleigh McEnany as former White House press secretaries on the conservative network.
