'Of Course He's F**king Lying': Seth Meyers Rips Apart Trump's Latest Bonkers Claim

“Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Thursday roasted President Donald Trump for claiming the Republican midterm convention earned huge ratings. Reporters asked Trump on Wednesday about reported private comments made by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that the convention had hurt his poll numbers. Instead of addressing Paxton’s reported remarks, Trump launched into a meandering rant about how the convention received better ratings than the NFL. “We had 107 million views, think of that, we had over 100 million views, I think 107, the NFL had 25 million views, so we had four times what the NFL did,” Trump said. “Now, I have to admit, when I heard that number, I thought he was lying, but we checked. It turns out Trump is right. When you aggregate total views across linear and digital platforms that include delayed viewing statistics across the 7-day ratings window, Trump really did get an average of 107 million views–” Meyers said. “And of course he’s fucking lying!” Meyers added that Trump must have gotten that figure from his “automated streaming system – a.k.a., his ass.” “It should go without saying that the NFL crushed, crushed Trump’s convention,” he said. Meyers then highlighted a Politifact report debunking Trump’s claims. “The television and streaming audience for Trump somewhere around 3.3 million — far less than the 25.1 million from the NFL season opener,” Meyers said. “The only thing that Trump has in common with an NFL game is that his doctors keep putting him through the concussion protocol.” Watch Meyers’ full “A Closer Look” segment from Thursday night’s show here: By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
