Trump Says Whaaaaat? About Hispanics In WTF White House Moment
Images
President Donald Trump bizarrely complimented Hispanics’ ability to fall from heights during Wednesday’s National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at the White House. Trump promised attendees they were the first group to enter his prized new ballroom so “be very careful.” “Don’t fall over the edge because it’s a long way down,” he said. “And only a Hispanic could survive that fall.” Trump: "The greatest ballroom ever built -- it's also a tremendous military complex with a drone port on top. Be careful. Don't fall over the edge. And only a Hispanic could survive that fall." pic.twitter.com/Zae5MG3hAT Many guests cheered. Some viewers on X interpreted the comment as praise of Hispanics’ toughness; others thought it was racially charged; and many wrote it off as Trump stumbling into another WTF utterance off the top of his head. On the subject of falling, that’s what Latino support for Trump is doing ahead of the midterms, The New York Times reported last month. Democrats led Republicans by 35 percentage points among Hispanic voters in a generic ballot asking respondents which party they’ll back for Congress.
