Fox News host Jesse Watters faced ridicule on social media after making several awkward comments while tasting bubble tea during Fox News’ “The Five” on Wednesday.

In a segment dubbed “Jesse’s Feeding Frenzy,” Watters said he wanted to try bubble tea because Maine U.S. Senate candidate Troy Jackson was recently featured in a video “sipping out of this thing like it was the last thing on Earth.”

“So we’re gonna try it,” Watters said. “You can’t watch me while I suck the straw; it’s private.”

Watters covered the straw with his hand and took a drink.

“I got a ball in my mouth!” he said, much to his co-host’s delight.

Watters then claimed, while reading a promo for “Jesse Watters Primetime,” that he could “taste the estrogen” in the bubble tea, implying that the drink was somehow inherently feminine.

The moment quickly gained attention on social media, with users focusing their mockery on the “ball in my mouth” comment. Other critics pointed out that last year, Watters said real men don’t drink from straws.

“I have rules for men. They are just funny, they are not that serious,” Watters said in March 2025. “You don’t eat soup in public. You don’t cross your legs, and you don’t drink from a straw. And one of the reasons you don’t drink from a straw is because the way your lips purse. It is very effeminate.”

Not his first time @JesseBWatters I thought you said straws were gay ? https://t.co/OgkGG9F1bE

Hiding that he’s using a straw definitely makes him more secure and manly.
