I have been a BuzzFeed Shopping contributor since 2022 and I love researching a little bit of everything while, as a mom, constantly looking for ways to solve parenting challenges, refresh corners of my home, and make time for style and self-care. Promising review: "I have had these for a few years now and my kids love them. They enjoyed them as babies and continue to learn new ways to play with them as they get into their preschool years. The kids have used this to learn fruits and vegetables, colors, sorting, counting, and now for more imaginative play as they play chef and make soups and meals. I am always impressed at the quality of toys produced by Learning Resources and their products are worth every penny. These are a phenomenal gift that will receive years of play without any show of wear and tear." —kaBuku Promising review: "I bought this for my son when he was 3. Two years later, I’ve returned to write my unbiased review, so you have one to trust. At the time, I bought these on a whim and had no idea what I would unlock. For more than two full years now, these gears have been played with DAILY. Every. Single. Day. They have held up to being airplanes that crash, sea creatures hit by tidal waves, and rocks catapulted into castles. Very rarely have they been played with as shown in the product pictures, as my son uses them to build different things every day. Dusty Crophopper (plane), Lightning McQueen (race car), and much more. Our only regret is that sometimes we don’t have enough pieces to build an entire fleet. These creations have an entire shelf for display in his bedroom to feature what he builds daily. This toy is durable, open-ended, grows with the child, fits a variety of abilities and ages, and is only limited by imagination. I could not recommend this toy more!" —Traveler Promising review: "My 16-month-old is obsessed with this drawing pad! He loves to have me draw a shape, then he takes the pen and scribbles over it, then clicks the button to erase it, and has me draw another shape. It's great for car rides too. I love to have a drawing option for him that involves no mess! It's held up well even though it's been thrown around and stepped on." —Rachel Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in four sizes and five colors). Nugget Comfort is a small biz based in Butner, North Carolina, that specializes in play furniture made out of foam cushions. Orders are estimated to ship within eight weeks. Promising review: "One young family in our family has had the Nugget for five years now. It has been daily fun for two (6 years and 3 years) morning, noon, and night. And now another young family in our family has this latest purchase as a gift in their house. Their one-year-old is starting to climb and this is perfect for climbing, rolling, hiding, playing. The older set still looks new; it has been washed many times and the color and fabric hold up so well." —Ann A. Get it from Nugget Comfort or Amazon for $249 (available in 28 colors on the brand site or 16 on Amazon). Promising review: "Melissa and Doug toys are the best! Bought this for my grandkids (almost 2 and 3). They LOVE them! It is one of their most-played-with toys. It is suitable for even older kids who like pretend play. They love to help Mom clean. They are wooden, high-quality, and very durable. These will last for a long time. They have been banged around, and you can see no wear and tear. I highly recommend them!" —jodie The wooden ice cream counter comes with eight ice cream scoops, six toppings, two cones, a cup, a scooper, tongs, a wooden spoon, a reusable menu card, and six pretend dollar bills. Promising review: "Very few toys outlive wear and tear, but this has been a favorite in our house and has lasted through many children! We have had our set for eight years, and I just bought it for my nephew's second birthday. P.S. My 9-year-old still plays with this alongside his 3-year-old brother!! Quality is 10 out of 10." —Barrett Korber Promising review: "I bought a pair of these about a year and a half ago for my daughter, who was not quite two then. Now, at almost three and a half, she loves these! And so does her little brother, who is almost two. They both understand how to use them and love to say what they see. We have not been the least bit careful — bringing them onto the beach, leaving them outside on the patio pretty much all the time, dropping them, etc. They're definitely dirty and a little scratched on the plastic, but other than that, they are in great condition. No condensation or cracks on the lenses and no other damage. I like how there's just a little magnification without any adjustment necessary. It's a great first set of binoculars. The string might concern some; even though it has a breakaway design, I wasn't comfortable keeping it, especially since I bought it when my daughter was younger than the recommended age. But I just untied the string and kept it in a safe place. I don't really think it's necessary for a younger child anyway. Overall, I think these binoculars are great, and I highly recommend them." —amoreviaggi Get it from Amazon for $11.19+ (available in two colors). The trampoline is designed to hold up to 55 pounds. Promising review: "I bought one of these about a year and a half ago, and it has proven to be, quite possibly, the single best investment in a kid's toy to date. My child is a vigorous jumper and has done so daily since we bought this thing. It is still in great shape. Was easy to assemble, too." —Bradley Newhall Promising review: "This is another great toy by Learning Resources. I bought this for my daughter when she was 2. Now 3, she still plays with it daily. She loves punching the numbers in, but her favorite part is the open button that ejects the spring-loaded drawer. She loves the paper money and the pretend credit card. I can see her and my son playing with this toy for at least ten more years. It is very durable. She has dropped it many times and it hasn't skipped a beat. The plastic is high-quality. I would definitely buy this product again." —Ecinoderm4u Get it from Amazon for $27.99+ (available in two colors). Promising review: "This set has lasted around a year and a half in my office and is still actually completely intact (save for one of the ice pop sticks, but given it's actually an ice pop stick, that's to be expected). It's held up to all kinds of play, including but not limited to items being thrown across the room. That kind of durability is exactly what I prioritize in looking for toys for my office! It gets used fairly often, whether for its intended purpose or kids filling the containers up with sand. Kids can actually see through the thing that's used to look in your eyes/ears, make the needle move on the blood pressure reader, and move the thermometer gauge between three different settings. As someone who has seen kids scream into the stethoscope while it's in their ears to see if it "really works," I personally am quite glad it's only pretend! Plus, in my experience, usually simpler toys are more durable, so I like that it isn't too complicated." —Elsa Torres Promising review: "This kitchen set is not only beautiful but sturdy! It has lasted an entire year with my two-year-old and still looks and works like new! The color, although light, is super easy to clean! The assembly did take a while, but between the price and product, that is a very small inconvenience for a very long use life!! I would recommend this 10 times over!" —Madison Mocombe Get it from Amazon for $164.99+ (available in four colors). GeerWest is a small business! Note: you'll need to purchase balls for the ball pit separately. Promising review: "This tent is built strong! My 4-year-old and 19-month-old play in this daily for the last year, and it's still in perfect condition!! They are not beat up at all, and they are very rough with it. It does take a lot of balls to fill it up. We used 800 and it's perfect with that many." —Angela Martz Get it from Amazon for $38.69+ (available in five styles). Promising review: "We have tried several stomp rockets, and my kids love this one the most. The rockets are lightweight enough to blast high into the air, and the foam red tips make them fun and less painful to catch on the way down (or they bounce instead of getting ruined). If left out in the sun too much, the yellow shaft part becomes brittle and will crack or break, so I recommend getting plenty of refills. Four rockets lasted us about two years, with lots of friends and neighbors having fun with it too. Even kids who are rougher with the stomper never managed to break it." —Jaxon814 Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in four- and six-packs). Promising review: "My 3-year-old loves puzzles, and this one will keep her interest longer as there is no right way to put it together. It's a great purchase for my family, and I would get it again. The wood parts are durable and can take a 3-year-old's abuse. 😉" —Crystal D Spencer Promising review: "Worth every penny. I thought it would be cheap and not as sturdy as a Step 2, but that is NOT the case. I read some reviews about the handles popping off. I can see where this could be a problem. Now, it is confusing how to put them on, but once I figured out the direction they go, I snapped them in by basically putting all my 200 pounds of weight on them, and they snapped in securely and have not popped off. They aren't going anywhere, but I don't think I could've gotten them to snap into place without all my body weight. It's durable. This slide gets a lot of rough and tumble. Bought for my 1-year-old, and she loves it, but my 8-year-old son runs up and down it all the time, and it's holding strong." —DC Promising review: "I bought this on the recommendation of a friend for my 20-month-old grandson, and he LOVES it! Now I have to get him some more Tonies characters to listen to! Very sturdy, stands up to toddler use and abuse! Highly recommend." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $149.99 (available in four colors). Promising review: "My boys LOVE this Lego box! No complaints! This set comes with instructions to build some cool things. The Legos are very durable — we haven't had any break! My kids play with Legos all the time! They are a very versatile toy that is made with strong plastic. I wouldn't buy anything other than Lego brand! This set is perfect for beginners who are just starting out their collection, or anyone looking to add more Legos to their current collection!" —Greenfields You can get refills of the paper and coloring books that work with the ink, too. Promising review: "OMG buy this for your child or children right now! I am OBSESSED with this, and it’s the absolute perfect gift! Mess-free, keeps the kids entertained, and the quality is immaculate. My daughter has dropped this, and the durability is amazing. She uses it every day. The paper is also thick and doesn’t bleed through." —Ashlee Page Get it from Amazon for $26.99+ (available in three styles). Promising reviews: "My three-year-old loves this! Very durable, my son manhandles the tracks, and they don’t break apart. He loves it and keeps him entertained!" —Marissa "I bought this for my 4-year-old nephew, and he absolutely loves it! Right out of the box, it was full of bright, colorful pieces and easy-to-build track sections. He spends hours building new tracks, rearranging the scenery, and making up stories. The playability is endless, each day looks a little different! The pieces are sturdy and well-made, so the durability is definitely there, even with rough little hands. The motorized car is a big hit. It zooms around the track and keeps things exciting. Even after lots of use, everything still works great." —Stephanie Baker Get it from Amazon for $24.99+ (available in three colors). Promising review: "My kids love these. They will sit and create all sorts of things with them. I love them because they can also be used for learning by forming them into shapes and letters. They are durable and can withstand lots of bending and shaping. They'd make a unique gift for creative kids." —KThompson The six-piece set comes with three logs and three stumps. Promising review: "A year later, this obstacle course I purchased has proven to be remarkably sturdy and easy to clean. It's incredible to see how creative the children are while playing with it, and they absolutely love it. Although it's a bit on the expensive side, the hours of entertainment it provides make it totally worth the investment. Highly recommend." —Misao Get it from Amazon for $69.99 (also available as sets of only three logs or only three stumps). Promising review: "I bought one of these guitars for my baby girl, who was only 14 months old at the time I got it, but she used to like to play with my guitars, so I decided it's maybe time to get her own. She loved it from day one and still does. Although she's still too little to play it as she should, she's becoming very familiar with it and likes to play it or hear me play it for her. The guitar is extremely durable, as she's let it fall a few times or stepped on it, and there's not even a scratch. It's amazing how they stay in tune for the most part and how durable these are. Great quality, and totally worth the price!" —Dan Get it from Amazon for $98 (available in six colors). Promising review: "It was super easy to inflate, came with an extra 'plug,' and is sweet enough to give a T-rex a cavity. The material is VERY sturdy and reminds me of what you would use to make an inflatable raft. Really tough! My granddaughter loves it, even just to sit on and watch TV. The cover is easy to clean (by hand, allow to air dry) and not difficult to put back on and zip. I’m pretty sure it will be around for a long time!!!" —Athena L.Stallman Get it from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in four styles). Promising review: "This has taken our pretend play to a whole new level of excitement. This interactive toy encourages imaginative play and provides endless entertainment for kids. One of the things I love most about this is its realistic design. It mimics the look of an actual car steering wheel, complete with turn signals, gear shift, and ignition key. The attention to detail is remarkable and adds to the authenticity of the play experience. It truly sparks the imagination, allowing kids to feel like they are driving a car. The wooden construction is sturdy and well-made, ensuring that this toy will stand up to active children's rough-and-tumble play. It is a durable piece that can be passed down to younger siblings or friends, making it a wise investment." —The Reviewer Promising review: "My 2-year-old loves this! We got it for him about 6 months ago, and it has been one of his favorite toys ever since. He is still trying to understand that the wrench only works on the bolts. It’s very durable, can’t say how many times he has dropped it off the back of the couch. I would recommend this to anyone with a youngster who is bored with their current toys." —Jordan Get it from Amazon for $18.99 (available in two colors). Promising review: "My students love this. I have had it for over a year. It is very durable as it has been thrown about without any damage. Students from ages 5–11 have enjoyed it. Fun for everyone." —Jo Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (available in three patterns). Promising review: "We bought these for our four-year-old for Christmas. He absolutely loves them. They stack well, and they're very durable. He's pretty rough on toys, and they hold up well. Highly recommend them and would order them again should I need more in the future. He has ADHD and will sit at the table and play with them for quite a while. Or he will sit on the floor and make tunnels, car washes, or any sort of things." —Amazon Customer * Parenting Products That’ll Help You Survive Back To School Season * Storage Products That Parents With Multiple Kids Swear By * If You Live With Stinky And Messy Kids And Pets, Keep Your Home Clean And Smelling Great Thanks To These 27 Finds * Products Parents Consider *Lifesavers* For Traveling With Kids * School Supplies And Stationery That Are An Unquestionable Step Up From What We Used As Kids Plus, next-level school supplies and finds from Target, Walmart, and Wayfair.
