Ex-Trump Aide Says Whaaaat? About The Economy In Defense Of Her Old Boss

Caroline Sunshine, a former press assistant for President Donald Trump, claimed that the economy is “like a fat person” and that the “best Ozempic” is “to deport illegal aliens.” Sunshine made her jaw-dropping analogy over objections from other panelists on CNN’s “NewsNight.” “I’m gonna paint the picture for you,” she said. “The economy right now is like a fat person. If you see somebody fat, you go, ‘They’re not very healthy.’ Actually, they just need to lose weight. What’s happening right now is the economy, structurally, is actually doing better than you think. But because the gas prices and groceries are high, it’s masking that, right?” Crosstalk objections erupted as Sunshine, a former actor on Disney’s “Shake It Up,” tried to nail down a point she had previously emphasized about the job market. “It’s a big deal that people without a college degree have the best labor market in two decades, because you know why?” she asked. “The best Ozempic for the economy is deporting illegal immigrants out of this country. It makes wages go up. It balances the labor market. And people like it. Campaign on it.” Incidentally, a recent study cited by The New York Times poured cold water on Sunshine’s economic theories about migrants.
