Joe Scarborough didn’t hold back when presented with President Donald Trump’s criticisms of his MS NOW news program on the air.

On Monday’s installment of “Morning Joe,” Scarborough reacted to the president’s latest remarks on the show, which has been touted as the No. 1 cable morning program in Washington, D.C.

“So I follow President Trump on Truth Social so you don’t have to,” co-host Jonathan Lemire said, not long after the conclusion of an interview with “Monty Python” actor-comedian Eric Idle.

He went on to read Trump’s Monday morning post blasting “Morning Joe” for becoming “too predictable and boring.”

“Joe Scarborough’s show has been cut way back, and will soon be ‘dead!’ Too predictable and boring!” Trump wrote in full. “REALLY BAD RATINGS, just like the rest of MSNOW (MSDNC!). President DJT.”

“You don’t have to watch,“ co-host Mika Brzezinski said of Trump, prompting Scarborough to echo her sentiments.

“You don’t have to — in fact, I have asked you not to watch,” he explained. “I specifically said: ‘Please Mr. President, don’t watch our show.’” It’s not good for you, and it’s not good for America.”

He went on to note: “Just, like, watch channels where they say shit that you like.”

Though Trump didn’t narrow down which segment or segments of “Morning Joe” he was reacting to, Monday’s installment contained a fair amount of coverage that could be distressing to the president and the GOP as a whole ahead of the midterms this fall.

Elsewhere during the show, Lemire reported on conversations he’d had with a number of Republican lawmakers in recent days, many of whom he said are fearful of a congressional “wipeout” in November.

“They do feel like that blue wave is coming,” he said. “They feel like nothing that the president has done... not only has it not worked, it’s actively hurt their chances.”

The president’s remarks come a little more than a week after he attempted to ban MS NOW, CNN and Politico from the White House.

On Thursday of last week, a federal judge ordered Trump to temporarily restore White House access for those outlets while their lawsuit proceeds in court, saying his ban was likely unconstitutional.
