I am a contributor and former BuzzFeed Shopping writer based in the DC/Maryland area who loves glitter, Marvel, Beyoncé, pink, wine, traveling, all things beauty and fashion, and shopping, of course! The color-adaptive formula is designed so that one of the five shades will work on any skin tone. Promising review: "Anyone with dark under-eyes like myself needs to have a brightener! I used to spend $40 on Becca. This one is better, in my opinion!! It’s very pigmented and covers the blue hue in the corners of my eyes. It can be worn alone, but I prefer it under my concealer. It blends incredibly well. Very creamy and easy to apply. It will probably last me six months. A little dab goes a long way. It’s extremely buildable, too. I am just so in love. I’m a sucker for saving money, and this purchase just saved me over $30. I will recommend it to all my friends and family. Just BUY it!" —Caitlin Newcomb Get it from Amazon for $6 (available in five shades). Promising review: "I absolutely love the E.l.f. Brow Lift! It keeps my brows lifted, fluffy, and perfectly in place all day without making them look stiff or overly crunchy. The clear formula is great because it works with any brow color and gives such a clean, polished look. I love how easy it is to shape my brows exactly how I want them, and the feathered effect makes my brows look fuller and more defined. It’s perfect for creating that trendy laminated-brow look without having to spend a fortune. A little product goes a long way, and my brows stay in place for hours. Affordable, easy to use, and gives gorgeous, fluffy brows — definitely a 5-star beauty product!" —Jennifer Promising reviews: "I loved this stuff, it was magic. The evening moisturizer was fabulous. It is the first plumper that actually works for me. Will be buying more for gifts!!!!!" —Alexandra "I discovered this product from TikTok and I had to give it a try. I tried the day lip plumper and within a few seconds, there was a subtle tingling/burning that lasted for a few minutes but as it occurred, the plumping started to happen! It made a noticeable difference and made my lips look like I had filler! I'm obsessed!! —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $9.98 (available in two styles). Promising review: "This is by far the best foundation I’ve used. My makeup hardly lasts throughout the day because I sweat, I’m oily, and it settles into my wrinkles. I put this on at 6:30 a.m., and at 4 p.m., when I got home from work, it was still on and looking good!!! I was amazed. No cracking, no fading, nothing! It looked like skin! Even my coworkers noticed, and they mentioned how my makeup was looking good. I have used Fenty powder foundation and the original pro filter foundation, and those are good, but this foundation knocks them out! I will use this for life! Please make a concealer with this same technology!!!!!" —lorena214 Get it from Sephora for $48 (available in 50 shades). Promising review: "I tried this mascara for the first time in 2020 after seeing it go viral on TikTok. It was too inexpensive to not try, right?!?! Well, let me just say how upset I was to find out this little inexpensive bottle outperformed EVERY expensive mascara I had ever bought. This is now the only stuff I use!" —Amanda Sims Get it from Amazon for $4.97+ (available in four colors and in multipacks). Just apply it until you see a thin, white layer and then let it sit for 20–30 seconds before putting on mascara. Promising review: "Saw this primer recommended on TikTok and they were right. Let it dry before mascara application, and it does wonders. Adds volume! Stays all day." —JC Get it from Amazon for $4.99 (also available in a three-pack). Promising review: "This is my holy grail. This is the only concealer I have ever used for two years! It blends seamlessly into the skin and works if you have no blemishes or if you do have acne. I can’t recommend it enough." —sesh2death Get it from Sephora for $17+ (available in two sizes and 30 shades). Promising review: "I work for an Amazon warehouse, so I move a lot and sweat. This gives me a great glow and covers imperfections. It's super light and perfect for summer days. It's pretty amazing how it's sheer but covers so well." —Jame Get it from Amazon for $14.97+ (available in five shades, two sizes, and two-packs). I love love love this stufffff, omg. My skin is oily oily (gotta say it twice for emphasis), and I have spent my entire teen/adult life looking for products that'll make me matte, and KEEP me matte. I've tried so many setting powders, and literally none can compete with this one. This powder is a seriously bad B. I mean, pores? Nonexistent. Oily, shiny face? Not up in here. I'm gagged every time. Just call me a walking IG filter, it's that good. Patrick, I could kiss you for crafting this magical powder. *OH!* and BTW, I am a brown-skinned woman, and the translucent, ultra peach, sweet honey, and ultra pink shades all work perfectly for me. No cakey, weird, suuuper light powder, no flashback, nothing. Looks just like my skin!! One/Size is a queer, Filipino-owned business founded by makeup guru Patrick Starr to ensure that makeup is really one size fits all, as it should be. Promising review: "Literally, what's in this powder? Beauty spells? I have normal to dry skin, but tend to grease up pretty easily when I use dewy foundations. I used this for the first time today and fell absolutely in love! I usually don’t care too much for high-end powders or powders at all, but this one, for me, is top tier. It didn’t necessarily dry out my skin, but it stopped it from becoming greasy, and it kept my makeup looking the same as when I applied it for hours. I definitely will be repurchasing; I’ve never been more in love with a setting powder!" —Kamoni Get it from Sephora for $19+ (available in two sizes and 10 finishes). Promising review: "12,000/10. I tried three high-end bronzers before this one, and I ended up returning all of them to Sephora. This bronzer, though, is beautiful!! As a college student, I need products that can last through my very busy days, and this one truly does not budge. It blends like a dream and gives the most natural, bronzed-from-within look. I personally love a soft glam style, but you can definitely build it up for more intensity. It’s super pigmented, so I know this product will last me a long time. It even survived the Texas heat!" —Jessica Get it from Amazon for $8.07+ (available in nine shades). Promising reviews: "Listen, oily skin has been my problem for a long time. So far, this is the only product I’ve found that keeps my skin from looking like I took a swim in baby oil by 12 p.m. In fact, my skin ends up a little less oily by the end of the night!! 10/10 do recommend." —Awianacawiana "FINALLY! A foundation that does what it says it’s going to do. I apply it with a wet sponge and the coverage is perfect each time. I don’t worry about it easily transferring to my clothes, hallelujah! To make thing even better I have NO SHINE. I have oily skin and have tried all the high-end to low-end brands to make my skin look matte and nothing worked until NOW! I have slept in this makeup and my face still looks good. I have recommended to everyone I know." —Nainah8584 Get it from Sephora for $39 (available in 18 shades). Promising review: "I LOVE this stuff. My everyday makeup is literally just this undereye concealer, mascara, and ChapStick. I work 12+ hour nightshifts, so under-eye concealer is a MUST. I am literally always tired, and my dark circles never seem to go away, but this magical makeup makes me look so much less like a zombie. I don't know what I would do without this concealer. Do yourself a favor and try it!" —gustavo Get it from Amazon for $9.82+ (available in 23 shades). One/Size is a queer- and Filipino-owned business founded by makeup expert Patrick Starr to ensure that makeup is really one size fits all, as it should be. Y'alllllllll — wheeeewwww, all I can say is it's sorcery. Patrick Starr is a witch, there's no convincing me otherwise. Nothing is topping this setting spray, honestly. I have other expensive setting sprays I love, but by the end of the night, I usually have a bit of shine on my face, which seems like no big deal, but as an oily girly, I hate that, I look greasy 🤮. But this stuff is a magical holy grail; no shine formed against me shall prosper. I see why Beyoncé uses this. I kept hearing the hype around this, but it is a bit pricey, so I kept putting off buying it. This is worth every bit of hype and every single penny. And I'm frugal! I love this stuff, and I will forever eat that price and buy it. If I recommend any name-brand product, it'd be this. Big fan. Get it from Sephora for $18+ (available in two sizes). Promising review: "I have super oily skin, and this is the only finishing spray that truly holds up. It keeps my makeup in place from morning to evening — no smudges on my clothes, even when I sweat. It’s also transfer-proof, so my friends never end up wearing my makeup when I hug them. For the quality and the price, you just can’t beat it! 🙌" —Casynella A. Cyrus Get it from Amazon for $14.97 (available in two other styles). Promising review: "This is perfect for the beach, summer, no makeup, light makeup, and full glam. It adds glow to the cheeks and lasts ALL DAY. Finally, it is impossible to mess up because it is blendable and user-friendly. PS: if you have blush blindness, this is for you." —catlover229 Get it from Sephora or Amazon for $25 (available in four shades). Promising review: "I have definitely done my share of testing on mascara, and this one takes the cake!" —Eric Promising review: "The perfect match and blends like a dream. It completely disappears into the skin while doing what it needs to. No dark shadows, and looks amazing with no-makeup makeup looks." —Nanetteeeee Get it from Sephora for $33 (available in eight shades). Promising review: "Lasts, literally, all day. You can apply and peel a couple of times to build the color. You have to use a very thick amount and let it sit for at least 5–10 minutes. I reapply lipstick, glosses, oils, and ChapStick over it all day long, and it doesn't move. I can eat and drink and not worry about reapplying my lip liner. Forever love, and will be repurchasing time and time again." —Lena Get it from Amazon (available in two sizes and 17 shades) for $8.39+ or from Ulta (available in 16 shades) for $10.50 (originally $14). Promising review: "I absolutely love the quality of the iMethod Brow Pen! The formula is smooth, long-lasting, and gives a natural look without being too harsh. It's incredibly easy to use — even if you're not a pro at doing brows, this pen makes the process foolproof. The best part? It has two options to help fill in your brows! Whether you want a soft, feathered effect or a more defined look, this pen lets you customize your brows effortlessly. No smudging, no fading — just perfect brows every time. Highly recommend!" —Jennifer Diaz Get it from Amazon for $14.97 (available in seven shades). Promising review: "I was pleasantly surprised by this powder. It feels lightweight, helps control shine, and sets makeup without looking heavy or cakey. It gives a smooth, soft-focus finish and helps my makeup last throughout the day. The packaging is cute, it's easy to use, and the quality is excellent for the price. I would definitely repurchase it." —Antonia Get it from Amazon for $8.99 (available in eight shades). Okay, sooo, my entire base routine the past few weeks has been solely this concealer (instead of foundation). I use it in different shades to conceal, brighten, and contour, and it works seamlessly and blends like a dream! I got three shades because IDK how to shade-match, but they all match different areas of my face, so it actually worked out perfectly. It covers my dark spots with ease and leaves me with a natural finish, which is honestly all I ever want. '10s across the board. Promising review: "I use this concealer instead of foundation. I apply little dots all over my face, blend, and it’s the PERFECT amount of coverage. Looks natural, with a somewhat dewy finish. Will purchase again!" —CarrieBonn Get it from Amazon (available in 27 shades), Tower 28 (available in 28 shades), or Sephora (available in 27 shades) for $24. I have these, and they're my favorites. I saw them on TikTok and knew that I had to have them. I'm expensive. 🫣 All the money I'd spend on beauty maintenance had my pockets HURTING. I was a lash girly and consistently spent about $150 every two weeks to maintain 'em. That's more than I spend on my electric bill in a month, so that's a problem. I decided that if I had to cut down on something, it'd be lashes, cuz I hated clearing out a whole morning to lie down for two or more hours getting my lashes done anyway. I went on the hunt looking for clusters and tried tons, and they were all...just okay. I bought these, and they're hands down the cutest lashes I've tried. They already look like they have spiky pieces, and there are so many lengths, so I can do subtle or dramatic looks, and they're super affordable! They suit my eye shape so nicely, and you can layer them for exxxxtra drama. I've tried tons of 'em, and every single different style is a hit. Get them from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in 30 styles, lengths, and kits). Promising reviews: "Really like this balm. Applies smoothly, is not drying or sticky, and the color I end up with is a more toned-down, slightly darker pink, which I'm happy with. The shimmer is very subtle, more of a soft glow, that's really pretty. Good stuff. Will purchase again." —HCDG "Love this lip balm! I’m very picky when it comes to lip balms/lipstick. This balm adds a little color to my lips, goes on smooth, and doesn’t taste horrible." —Jennifer E Get it from Amazon for $12.60+ (available in eight shades and in two-packs). Promising review: "This is a YES for me. I love how easy it is to do my nose contour now! It's so creamy and blendable that I can use it all over my face, and I think having the brush on the other end is great. I do prefer a larger brush for blending the contour of my face, but for small/narrow areas like your nose, it can be helpful. I'm a big fan of Patrick Ta products, and this one didn't disappoint. I really want to get the highlighter shade next. (I got 'Silhouette' and it's the perfect shade for light skin)." —CW217 Get it from Sephora for $34 (available in 10 shades). I just got this, and I must say, it's soooo ideal for bottom lashes. It's the only applicator that doesn't end up all over my under-eye area as soon as I apply it. I haven't tried it on my upper lashes, and I don't have straight lashes, so I can't speak on those aspects, but still, it's fabulous. My lashes don't clump together, no matter how many coats I apply. I've been searching for a mascara that wouldn't ruin my concealer as soon as I put it on, and this is definitely it. Promising review: "I’ve been dying to try this mascara for quite a while. I had low expectations for it, I mean, the wand itself doesn’t look like it will do much. However, after curling my lashes and applying two coats of this mascara, my lashes stay curled and separated. They haven’t looked this good since I was a teenager." —Kindle Customer Get it from Amazon for $7.99 (available in six other formulas). Check it out on TikTok! It's literally giving skin. Promising review: "This has been my new go-to for everyday makeup. It goes on so nicely and blends beautifully. I do like a lighter layer, and this does that, but it has coverage and is buildable. Literally puts the 'skin' in skin tint with how well it matches my tone." —Cheyanne Get it from Ulta for $35 (available in 24 shades) This lip oil is vegan, cruelty-free, and has no parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. Promising review: "This is the first lip oil I've ever used. Usually, I avoid anything with oil because I have very sensitive and generally oilier skin, but I wanted to give this a try because I wanted something sheer and pretty for a natural makeup look. Probably the best purchase I've ever made!!! It's super sheer and looks fine on its own without any other makeup. The smell is delicious, and while the gloss dries and fades after about an hour or two without eating, the color stays all day! I did have to reapply after eating, but not after drinking water! I just wish it were bigger; it's a teeny bottle. Would definitely buy again!!" —Rachel Get it from Amazon for $15+ (available in 25 shades and in multipacks). Makup Beauty is a small biz that specializes in makeup products. Promising review: "I’m obsessed with this product. I have my brows micro-bladed, but I love the look of the bushy laminated brows, and this product is my holy grail now. It lasts all day, and I don’t need to have my brows laminated by a professional. I recently went on vacay in Cancun, which is humid, and these brows didn’t move. Highly recommend!!" —Tammy J. Check out a TikToker applying the foundation. Promising review: "I don’t write reviews very often, but I had to share my thoughts on this one. I am so picky when it comes to foundation, but this one has surpassed all my expectations. It doesn’t feel cakey at all, but still provides great coverage. It is so light on the skin that I barely even realize it's there. My glasses don’t rub it off my nose, which is a GAME CHANGER. It also matches my skin tone in a way other foundations just haven’t been able to. I am never going back now." —Anna Burton Get it from Amazon for $7.50+ (available in two sizes, 40 shades, and in two-packs). Live Tinted is a South Asian woman-owned small biz that specializes in clean, vegan, cruelty-free beauty products for all skin tones. Promising review: "I'll admit, I was totally skeptical of these Huesticks. I am a 34-year-old, of Sri Lankan descent (medium to deep tan skin), and I've NEVER been good at makeup. I was excited to try these Huesticks, made by and vouched for by a fellow South Asian, but was worried it would look like I was ACTUALLY wearing makeup. I was pleasantly surprised after using Rise under my eyes and around my mouth, blending with a Beautyblender, and then using the same amount of CC cream and powder foundation. You really still can't tell I'm wearing makeup. I even asked my BF if he could see the orange 'glow' under my eyes before I put on the CC cream, and he couldn't see it! It really was color correcting!" —Reviewer Get it from Amazon (available in four shades) for $23.99+ or Ulta (available in six shades) for $28. Promising reviews: "I am not a morning person, but have to be at work at 7:00 a.m. I don't use a lot of makeup, but mascara is one of the two things I never go without. I have been having trouble even with some of my go-to brands, with the mascara not staying put in the humidity. I read a review about this mascara and decided to give it a go. I love it! The 'tubing' effect gives me noticeable, lovely lashes, and it stays put all day. However, it is by far the easiest I have used in years to get rid of when it's time. One swipe with a cleansing wipe seems to get all the little tubes off — I no longer wake up with residual raccoon eyes even after cleansing at night." —cmp "I love this Elf mascara. I have sensitive eyes, so when it comes to mascara, I'm very picky. This mascara doesn't smudge and is easy to take off." —Vane Get it from Amazon for $8 (available in three shades). Promising review: "I have purchased this three times in the color Sienna, and it is perfect! It's totally worth all the hype on TikTok. This is a very emollient powder that sticks to the skin. I prep with sunscreen, then use this. The fragrance dissipates quickly. I noticed the actual powder is bouncy to the touch. I have not used the sponge that comes with it; I like to use a powder brush. It gives me full coverage, and I look flawless all day. I also don’t need to blot, and I am very oily. I will certainly continue to repurchase. This is the best powder I have tried since Mac Studio Fix." —Maria Webba Get it from Amazon for $13.17+ (available in 18 shades and a three-pack). Promising review: "This stuff is so cool! I’m a makeup artist and I’ve started using this to get the perfect shade match for my clients and it works with ANY foundation. I’ve even perfected my own custom shade of foundation! This performs like a high end product. Buy it!" —Moviemaniac And check out the white, and yellow versions for other foundation concerns! * Beauty Products Reviewers Say They’ve Been Using For Over 5 Years * Easy Makeup Products That Won’t Require You To Watch Beauty TikTok Tutorials * Trust Me When I Say You’ll Want To Add These 38 Beauty Products To Your Routine ASAP * TikTok-Approved Beauty Products That’ll Convince You That App Isn’t A Total Waste Of Time * Beauty Items With Results So Good, You'll Wonder If Otherworldly Forces Are Involved Plus, finds from Amazon, Glossier, The Ordinary, Sephora, Soko Glam, Tarte, Ulta, and Walmart.
