Amelia Dimoldenberg, comedian and host of a British YouTube interview show, told a scathing joke about Ed Sheeran and his recent controversy regarding his refusal to stand up to billionaire Robert Kraft.

During Dimoldenberg’s “Saturday Night Live UK” monologue on Saturday, the comedian reflected on her time as host of “Chicken Shop Date,” the show she created where she takes celebrities on dates to a chicken shop.

“I’m incredibly privileged to have done so many interviews with people like Idris Elba, Cher and even the world famous red-headed puppet with a hand up his ass telling him what to say,” Dimoldenberg said during her monologue, while a photo of her and Elmo was projected on the screen.

The photo of Elmo quickly switched to a photo of Dimoldenberg and Sheeran. Dimoldenberg said, “No, the other one.”

The audience erupted in laughter.

The jokes comes after Sheeran found himself drowning in controversy after his tour promoter kicked Macklemore off Sheeran’s tour after Macklemore said “free Palestine” during his set.

Shortly after he was kicked off the tour, Macklemore explained that Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium, told Sheeran he wouldn’t allow Macklemore to perform at the stadium — a move Kraft confirmed, saying he was focused on “the fight against antisemitism.”

For his part, Sheeran said he is “not complicit,” but he chooses not to vocalize his political views.

“I choose to use my fame and platform to be a place of safety and sanctuary, to maintain diplomacy and keep conversations open, not closed,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram. “If we only focus on shouting the loudest, nothing will ever change. There are different approaches to being an advocate for change.”

Soon after, all of Sheeran’s opening acts dropped out of his tour, criticizing Sheeran for not sticking up for Macklemore and appeasing Kraft.

Ironically, Sheeran’s concerts at Gillette Stadium were canceled last week because of bad weather.

“Saturday Night Live UK” had perviously taken aim at Sheeran during its show on Sept. 19. During the “Weekend Update” segment, a photo of Sheeran’s lazy eye was projected on the screen, while host Paddy Young said Sheeran was “looking at both sides of the issue.”
