“I never would’ve started watching it if I had known that’s where it would end up.” I’m the SEO Resident here at BuzzFeed, and I cover everything from trending pop culture and celebrity news to evergreen entertainment and lifestyle topics. Note: Responses were also pulled from this thread, this thread, this thread, and this thread. Also, ***MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!*** "I absolutely love The Boys and Gen V, but they really mucked it up by dropping Gen V and wasting half of the last season of The Boys setting up an upcoming prequel show that I can't imagine anyone is actually interested in." "Holly and her mini gang got way too much screen time, and the recast of the OG Holly sucked. Millie and Sadie clearly didn’t like the scripts, as their acting was noticeably worse than in previous seasons. After Season 4, Season 5 really should’ve been a movie or a short season of the full-scale invasion through the gates that was to occur. No idea why it never happened." "Stranger Things. Had a wonderful first four seasons, then the last one just felt quite lazy and superficial. The character endings just felt a bit cheesy and overly sentimental at times." "House of Cards (without Spacey). The final season was a mess, but the actual last episode was just depressing. No payoff, no closure." "I thought after years of fighting side-by-side and the brotherly relationship between Arthur and Merlin, we would get to see how Arthur accepts Merlin as a sorcerer and how Merlin would change Arthur’s view on sorcery, and perhaps they would continue their friendship as it was. But what did we get? A very pathetic finale where Merlin revealed his magic to Arthur tearfully when Arthur was lying there injured by lightning, a bonfire. Perhaps I was too imaginative. We also don’t know what Merlin’s fate was after Arthur died, or whether Guinevere reconnected with Merlin. The series literally ended with Arthur's death, and the screen cut to Merlin in the modern era. That’s it. Not even an epic battle between Merlin and Morgana after spending five seasons building up his magic. Morgana, supposedly the most powerful princess, dies by being stabbed by a sword by the most powerful sorcerer. Oh, what the hell." "Dexter. It was my favorite show, but the final season made me hate it. The sequels have since saved it somewhat, with Resurrection genuinely being amazing." "Manifest. It got a bit strange toward the end, but that final episode was an ending that made me so cross. It just felt like a huge waste of time to have watched any of it." "The 100 was such a rollercoaster for me. The first couple of episodes felt like your average teen drama with hot young people doing hot young people things in a different setting. Then it actually started getting good, leading up to a strong season finale. Season 2 was amazing, connecting a bunch of dots to the first season. Didn’t hold back on some morality questions and body horror. Season 3 blew my mind again with the introduction of the whole AI chip thingy, connecting more dots and adding more complexity and tension. Then Season 4 happened. Then Season 5…they had good moments, but eventually I wasn’t sure I was even watching the same show. Then it didn’t hold my interest anymore. It had ‘masterpiece’ moments in the first three seasons. I was invested. But they dragged it along, and eventually, we aren’t on Earth; half the characters have changed, everybody has made terrible decisions, and there was really no one left to root for. They really dropped the ball Season 4 onwards." Note: Submissions have been edited for length and/or clarity.
