Mariska Hargitay’s opening number during Monday’s Emmy Awards had a few people singing her praises on social media.

But others didn’t think the “Law & Order: SVU” star’s performance was that arresting.

The opening began with Hargitay panicking over the show while she and New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson steamed the wrinkles out of various evening dresses.

“Oh, my gosh. The opening number is starting. I’ve got to get to the airport. I don’t have time to stand around and steam outfits with you,” she said.

Hargitay then started singing a song called “I Love TV Screens” to the tune of Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock and Roll.”

The lyrics to the TV-oriented tune referenced many of the nominated shows and had lines like:

I love TV screens/ Hunky hockey humping, pass the popcorn, baby/ I love TV screens/ Now I’m watching “Hacks,” get smart with Jean.

You can watch the segment here, but the initial reaction on social media was mixed.

I’m sorry that opening number “I Love TV Screens” was…pretty dreadful.Mariska’s giving it her all but that was the most bland musical bit. #Emmys

Others thought she did a great job.
