Sorry, everyone, the tour rumours can go back to bed.

Instead, the Spice Girls have unveiled The Singles Collection.

The £278 set, which is set to drop on 6 November, will feature 14 discs of colour vinyl and CDs, alongside original artwork, B-sides, and previously unreleased demos from the group’s archives. That includes 'Do You Think About Me', one of their earliest demos.

It comes after the girl group took to Instagram on Wednesday (9 September), asking fans who could "sing and dance", with eagle-eyed followers quickly spotting a very familiar detail.

The newspaper featured in the clip was from The Stage, the same publication that famously carried the original ad seeking members for an all-female pop group back in 1994.

It read: "R U a Spice Girls fan with the ability to sing and dance? R U a superfan, a collector, a music lover?"

"Spice Girls are a widely successful, global, choreographed, singing/dancing all-female pop act with a record nine number ones in the UK and over 100 million global sales.

"Thursday 10th September at 2 o’clock BST. No sheet music required. But you will need a vinyl or CD player."

Inevitably, optimistic fans thought they'd be returning from their lunch breaks to a tour announcement, and having to take out a bank loan.
