Hey, GOP, You Think Democrats Are 'Crazy'? Has Jen Psaki Got An Example For You.

Jen Psaki on Tuesday featured an extreme GOP candidate in response to Republicans framing the midterm election as that party’s “common sense” vs. the Democrats’ “crazy.” After playing a montage of Republicans such as House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Vice President JD Vance reinforcing the mantra, Psaki fired back with the example of Brandon Herrera. Herrera is running for the House of Representatives against Democrat Katy Padilla Stout in a Texas district now considered “in play” to be flipped blue partly because of the controversial nature of the Republican. “Now, here’s where this actually gets a little crazy, because the so-called common-sense GOP candidate in that race is ... a 30-year-old pro-gun YouTuber who literally goes by the handle @TheAKGuy,” Psaki said. “And it’s hard to pinpoint just exactly what the worst thing about this guy is. Maybe it’s him goose-stepping to a Nazi marching anthem while carrying a German rifle. A real video there. Or his decision to re-create the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in one of his many videos promoting gun rights.” (Some of Herrera’s questionable content emerged in his previous run for Congress.) Psaki went on about “the time he mocked American service members who died by suicide, or even the fact that he refers to himself as a gun-rights absolutist while running to represent a district that includes Uvalde, Texas, the site, of course, of one of the most deadly school shootings in American history.” He has also told mom Shannon Watts, the founder of a group advocating an end to gun violence, “Just because you let somebody cream-pie you, doesn’t mean I have to give a shit about your political opinions. The fact that you kept your cum trophy doesn’t make you any less wrong about the dumb shit that you say.” Psaki didn’t detail those comments but instead referred viewers to search online for them. As if all that weren’t enough, Psaki also showed footage of him wishing death on Social Security and calling it a “Ponzi scheme,” while joking about killing older people. “Does that sound like common sense or completely crazy?” Psaki asked.
