Friends, it took me until my 30s to hop on the wool dryer ball train — and once I finally arrived, I cannot tell you how much I wished I had known about these things sooner. They do, in fact, help clothes and linens dry better; even my plushest bath towels come out fully dry and fluffy when I use them! And if your regular laundry situation is a laundromat or a set of shared machines somewhere in your building, they also might help with the, uh…smells that sometimes come along with them. Promising review: “Saves time and dries loads more thoroughly! These things actually work. They knock at least five minutes off the drying time of a larger load, I assume by keeping things separated or something. You can hear them knocking around a little in smaller loads. I'm still adding softener, so I can't really comment on if they soften fabric. Don’t do what I did; I didn’t start moisturizing until extremely late in the game, only to discover that my problematic (read: oily and acne-prone) skin was significantly happier when it wasn’t, y’know, parched all the time. A true story about the value of these kinds of things: I’ve had a glass screen protector like this one on my Switch since I first got the thing, and as you might imagine, it eventually took a tumble from the coffee table. It did not fall particularly far, and thanks to my carpet, it did not fall onto a particularly hard surface — but when I picked it back up, I had a brief moment of “OH NO” panic when I saw the screen: It looked like it had cracked clear down the middle. Y’all, I am extremely anxious. I have always been extremely anxious, and the older I get, the more anxious I get.
