Read More We’re done cringing at clutter, eyesores, and other little annoyances around the home — you’d be surprised how quickly you can be rid of them. As a shopping editor with over a decade of experience working in journalism and digital media, I cover everything from beauty and fashion to home, travel, gaming, and pets, and I'm constantly saving interesting products on TikTok (in *very* organized folders, mind you) to share with BuzzFeed readers. Most of us have those tiny things around the home that nag at us as we go about our day — the stain in the bathroom that won't go away no matter how hard you scrub, the squeaky door hinge that makes you cringe every time you open it, the visible cables and cords in your living room that are ugly distractions. Thankfully, there are smart humans out there who have created solutions to these annoying household issues that may seem small, but are worth addressing for good. Promising review: "Finally, my home office is clutter-free thanks to these white cord organizers! With three energetic youngsters constantly playing nearby, I really appreciate how these cable clips keep everything neat and tidy. The 3M adhesive on the back makes installation a breeze, and it's great that they can hold various cords and even my kids' toothbrushes." —Davina Shapiro Get a six-pack from Amazon for $4.79+ (available in three colored sets, two sizes, and a variety pack). Promising review: "Nice, sturdy, cute little storage boxes that stack well. I used these boxes to organize my craft room cabinets and shelves." —Liz Get them from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in two set sizes and nine colorways). Promising review: "I recently used this toilet sealing tape to give my bathroom a cleaner, more polished look, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The tape adheres perfectly to the base of the toilet, creating a seamless and professional finish. It’s durable, water-resistant, and keeps dirt and moisture from accumulating in hard-to-clean areas. Installation was simple and hassle-free, with no mess or fuss. The bright white color complements the flooring beautifully, enhancing the overall aesthetic of my bathroom. This tape is a game changer for anyone looking to add a neat and protective barrier around their toilet. Highly recommended!" —Hayden Scott Get a roll from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in two colors and three lengths). Promising review: "Between myself (medium long hair) and my overly fluffy cat, a lot of hair and fluff was continually getting caught up on the roller brush of my vacuum. I dreaded vacuuming because it took so long to pull and snip the hairs wrapped up on the roller brush out with scissors. Not anymore! This silly, little, inexpensive thing works great! Super quick to remove all the hair/fur — in virtually a minute, then back to vacuuming with my lovely Miele vacuum." —MKS Promising review: "For anyone with long hair, drainage clogging in the shower is a pain. So THANKS to whoever thought of such a simple but clever solution. They stick perfectly, and the glue lasts like three weeks. It literally does not let a hair pass, and it's just so easy to place and remove. I wish I had known about this product before! A must-buy." —MER Get a 25-pack from Amazon for $11.99 (also available as a 50-pack and 100-pack, and in a larger size for square drains). Promising review: "This clip is amazing. No more towels falling on the floor. It was becoming a routine thing since my cat thinks it's fun to pull the kitchen towels off the oven. Not now, bad kitty! Great product...wish I had bought one sooner!" —Joanna Get a three-pack from Amazon for $11.79. Promising review: "I love WD-40 products and use them for everything. I spray on shovels to keep dirt or snow from sticking, spray around windows and thresholds to deter bugs, clean Sharpies off wood and walls, and, of course, stop squeaky doors. These small direct-point application pens are great. Keep one in the glove box, my kitchen 'junk' drawer, and the house toolbox." —BBP623 Get a three-pack from Amazon for $12.49. Promising review: "Absolutely love these. My daughter’s toilet was missing the original caps, so I thought I would give these a try. They are so nice looking!! She loves them. Great quality and fits perfectly over the screw. Going to buy some for my bathroom now! Buy it, you won’t regret it." —Valentine Girl Get a pair from Amazon for $11.88+ (available in 11 styles). The cord cover comes with a flexible hinge so you can add more wires after you adhere it to the wall. Just a heads up the adhesive is very strong and may take paint off the wall when you remove it — some reviewers opted to use Command strips instead for this reason. Promising review: "These look great and are super easy to apply. This is the perfect solution for hiding a cord! It looks like it is just a part of the baseboard. Mine is covering a cable wire only, but I think they are big enough to hide more than one cord if needed. I didn’t cut mine, and I bought two. You can tell where the two meet if you look closely. However, I do not think anyone would notice. I can’t believe I let our cable cord sit across the floor for this long. I wish I would have found these sooner!" —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in two sizes, four colors, and in multipacks). Promising review: "Two weeks ago, I didn’t even know stone bath mats existed! But wow! What a game changer! I’m one of those people that avoid my cloth bath mat when it’s wet. Because eww! Now, I can take a shower right after my husband and not have to worry about stepping on a wet bath mat. The stone absorbs the water so fast! Can’t wait to upgrade my other bathroom mats." —Angela Promising review: "I bought this because I have the outlandish idea that my refrigerator will look just like those on TikTok, but I am pleasantly surprised to find that it keeps my cold cuts fresher for much longer than expected. It's large enough to hold a pound or more of cold cuts or cheese, which is a bonus. The sealing technology is superb and strong. At one point, I almost could not open the container due to the seal being so airtight. Not only does this product look good in my fridge, but it is saving me money, so definitely a win-win from me." —IrishEyes Get it from Amazon for $11.72 (available in three styles and a variety pack). Promising review: "Why didn’t I know about this sooner?! A must-have for anyone annoyed at the amount of dryer lint left behind when you pull out the lint catcher. Now I can get it all. Note: you’ll probably need to vacuum more after cleaning it out." —Interpreter Get a pack of two from Amazon for $7.99. It comes in an easy-to-use trigger spray and is ideal for cleaning bathtubs, showers, toilets, colorfast fabrics, vertical surfaces, and hard-to-reach spots. Plus, it's nonabrasive, and made with a nonhydrofluoric acid–based formula, which is safer than other similar liquid rust-stain removers. Promising review: "Holy wizardry! Seriously it was more work to clean the mirror over the vanity than use this product. With almost no effort, this made my dark-orange, iron-water shower stall white again. I definitely suggest wearing a mask or bandana and running the ventilation fan if spraying in an enclosed area. Great product!" —Jessica B Sleek Socket is a small biz focused on sleek power outlet solutions for the home! Promising review: "This product is awesome! We bought one in the office to stop a nearby chair from continuously hitting the outlet plugs. It solved the problem right away. So we ordered three more to use anywhere there is bulk on the wall. It saves space, makes arranging furniture and desks easy, it's clean looking. Someone is a genius. Thanks so much!" —Jay Get it from Amazon for $21.95+ (available in three lengths and with dual cords, plus a smart version). Bed Band is a US-based small business that specializes in bed bands for mattresses of various sizes. Promising review: "I have a pillow-top and pillow-bottom queen-size bed that is a little too small for king sheets, and with queen sheets, I have battled to keep the sheets from popping off. I have tried everything! I was about to try to customize some king sheets because it was so frustrating. Then I saw this product advertised on Facebook in one of those posts about the amazing products that people love. So I figured it was worth a try. It works. I was shocked. My sheets have not popped off once. I ordered this in February, and it is May now — and they have not popped off once! They used to pop off EVERY...SINGLE...NIGHT. To say this is life changing is not an exaggeration. Such a relief to be able to sleep through the night without ending up in rumpled sheets." —TinkerbellAPixie Get a pack of four from Amazon for $13.99+ (available in standard and extra-long sizes and in black, white, and pink). Everneat is a Fairfield, Connecticut-based small business that makes natural cleaning products and tools. Promising review: "When we leased our house, it very obviously had NEVER been cleaned by the previous tenants. The oven was a big problem and not up to my standards. I didn’t want to use a chemical or anything that would harm us or the pets, and this was PERFECT. Only took about an hour and a half to clean probably 10 years' worth of grime from the lil nasties who lived here before us!" —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $25.98 (available in two scents or unscented, and in a glass or plastic jar). The tens of thousands of 5-star Amazon reviews are reason enough to add the ChomChom to your cart immediately — but let me add my own personal review to the stack. I've been using the ChomChom for quite a while now, and I took the photos above to show just how quick, easy, and effective this roller is. It took 10 seconds to rid my velvet couch ottoman (yes, velvet...a terrible cat owner choice, I know) of the hair my gray cat is constantly leaving everywhere. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of using this roller — at first, I thought you only brushed down in one direction, and was confused why it wasn't picking up hair. It's important to do a push-and-pull brushing in *both* directions so it actually pulls the hair inside, which does require you to apply a bit of pressure. Afterward, you'll just dump out the hair that's been trapped inside. The ChomChom is best for large flat surfaces like couches and beds. Get it from Amazon for $24.99 (available in four colors). It'll maintain moisture in your brown sugar for 3–6 months! Promising review: "After many containers and continuously having to throw my brown sugar away due to giant hard lumps, I began to wonder why our brown sugar never lumped as a child. That's when I remembered a weird brown bear in our sugar, after a quick Google search I found this! I soaked it in water for 30 minutes and then added to my lumpy brown sugar. Two days later there is not a single lump in my sugar! Yay! Note: it did turn any sugar that touched the bear a white color, but it tastes the same, still! :)" —Sneezeloaf I put this to the test on a gross, mold-stained corner of my own tub — I've scrubbed and scrubbed that area previously and simply couldn't get the stains out until I used this stuff. As you can see above, I put on gloves (which is recommended on the packaging) and simply applied a thin strip to the area with black spots, then let it sit for six hours. After that point, all you do is rinse and check out the results! I didn't need to do a second application, but if you're dealing with some particularly tough stains, you can reapply as needed. Promising review: "Wow! I would give this 10 stars if I could. We've had issues for a few years with the caulking behind the handle of our kitchen faucet turning black from mildew. We've scrubbed with what seems like a million different products with no luck. We were actually just talking about ripping out the caulking and doing a total replacement. But my husband saw this online the other day and decided to order it. Almost immediately, when he applied it, you could see it was starting to work. We left it on overnight, and the black is COMPLETELY GONE! It's incredible. It's 1,000% worth the (small) investment. Seriously — just buy this. It's amazing!!" —Nicole D. Wad-Free is a woman-owned small biz that was launched during the pandemic. Cyndi Bray, the founder, learned CAD (computer-aided design) to create the pads. You might remember Wad-Free from Shark Tank! Promising review: "Wow!!! You wonder if things like this really work; well, I can absolutely confirm it does! First, I was impressed that the package came with two of the devices — I was only expecting one — so there was one for the fitted sheet and the flat sheet. I tried it out and my sheets not only did NOT wad up; they came out of the dryer feeling fresher, feeling more dry, and unwrinkled! I will be buying a set of these for each of my immediate family members and close friends! What a great gift!!!" —katy Get a pack of two from Amazon for $16.99. Promising review: "These things work incredibly well. I was worried they would leave weird streaky brush strokes, but they don't. They're easy enough to fill with whatever paint you need and they work great for painting over nail holes or larger patches. They also work really well for cleaning up the edges/corners of walls!" —mel Get a two-pack from Amazon for $12.99 (also available in a five-pack). It can also help discourage them from hiding under furniture! Promising reviews: "WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND THIS YEARS AGO FOR MY DOGS! I recently bought it because my 11-month-old is constantly throwing stuff and pushing things under the couch. I was able to install this while the baby was climbing all over me, and I haven't had any problems with the adhesive. Also keeps my two small dogs from hiding their bones and toys under the couch! Perfectly invisible. Literally life changing! I can finally throw away self-made blockers, which were pool noodles that always moved." —Crystal K "A must-have for ALL pet owners. This contraption is genius and will save cat (and dog) owners huge amounts of time and frustration retrieving toys. We used this beneath our oven and it works PERFECTLY. Cat can't destroy it (the way she shredded the foam insulation we had stuffed under there before), and we no longer have to get the yardstick out when literally all of her toys are 'gone.' Yes, this is a challenge to install, but 100% worth it. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat." —Allison Goldstein Get it from Amazon for $12.98+ (available in two heights and various packs). I've been using this trapper mat for a long time now, and while it's pretty much impossible to eliminate all litter from your home if you own even one cat, let alone several, this mat has made keeping the floor of my litter box room MUCH more manageable. Unlike other mats, where the litter just kind of sits on top and eventually gets kicked elsewhere, this mat is designed so that the litter falls through the holes and stays inside the mat until you're ready to dump it. It's made out of an EVA material that's supposed to be gentle enough for cat paws, and my cat doesn't seem to have a problem walking on it. I *highly* recommend getting one of the larger sizes to extend the coverage area — I initially got the smallest one but went back for the larger 30-by-24-inch size and it's perfect. Note that the mat will probably have a fold down the middle when it first arrives, but just give it some time and weigh it down with something if needed; it'll lay flat. Get it from Amazon for $13.99+ (available in four sizes and five colors). Promising review: "This is the best thing you never knew you needed. I own a digital clock with the numbers displayed in red LED light, and every night I've blocked the light with a cover so it doesn't shine in my eyes as I sleep. Silly I know, but I like my room pitch black and cave-like. On a whim, I bought this product. OH MY GOD! Game changer!! For the first night EVER I didn't have to cover the clock display before I went to bed!! I had no idea how big a difference this little dimmer could make, but I'm more than pleased with the result. I can still see the time display just fine, but now my room is a happy cave! Some commenters argue you could get the same effect using electrical tape, regular tape covered in sharpie, etc, but true to the name of these products if you're looking for something to DIM, then this is for you. Also, the product is easy to remove and doesn't leave a sticky residue at all, which can't be said for most tapes. I did notice a slight lag in response when I covered my TV LED sensor, so if you're trying to block something that actually senses inputs I would maybe not suggest this. Other than that, excellent product!" —Logan M. Get a sheet of over 100 dimming stickers (in different sizes and shapes) from Amazon for $4.99. Use gentle back-and-forth motions to remove stains and deposits from inside the toilet bowl, and voila! Promising review: "I have very hard water that leaves hard water buildup and nasty stains. It’s embarrassing to have guests over because the toilets are so gross! I have tried so many products and cleaning solutions — from natural essential oils to harsh chemicals so strong I was lightheaded for the rest of the day. I had many failed experiments and one that was semi-successful. The before picture [above] of the toilet was after five sessions of an hour plus scrubbing with the semi-successful option (you can see where the ring is more faint to the left). Well, I tried out this pumice stone after reading about it in a BuzzFeed article, and honestly the hype is real! It does take some elbow grease, but the after picture is from only 20 minutes of scrubbing, light enough that I didn’t break a sweat! The stone does get used up, but I think this one should last me a couple of years at least. So if you have embarrassing toilets, try this!" —Stephanie Ray Get it from Amazon for $13.99 (also available in a two-pack). Promising review: "My brand new LG dishwasher has stopped draining on several occasions. I recently noticed that there was an egg-ish odor and I had no clue how to fix this without hiring someone to come out for a service call and drop a minimum of $100. I bought this product, used once (put on very bottom of dishwasher) and ran without dishes. Very happy to see that the water was gone and my machine smells great. DEF worth buying because I think it unclogged pipes or something." —rebecca cohen Get a pack of six tablets from Amazon for $8.98. To apply, just unroll, position where you want it, sloooowly smooth it down with a credit card, and then trim the excess. Oh, and don't forget to wipe down the area you're covering first so it sticks. Promising review: "I absolutely loved this contact paper. It completely transformed my countertop. It was super easy to apply, and if I messed up, it was extremely easy to redeem myself. I did this alone with no help, and I’m pretty proud of the outcome. Took me about 30 min to complete it. I used the whole roll of the smallest option, and it was enough for me. Super awesome, and I will be buying more of this contact paper soon when I transform another room in my home! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!" —Mariah Get it from Amazon for $5.99+ (available in 12 sizes and three colors). Use a UV blacklight (as shown above) to find urine spots you didn't even know were there! Promising reviews: "We have three cats, two of which are Maine Coons, and one of our young female Maine Coon cats has been urinating on the rug in the bathroom. We bought this stuff, sprayed it on the rug, and she went in to investigate — smelled the rug, pretty much gagged, and hasn't been in the bathroom since. Highly recommend, this stuff smells great!" —TBOZ "I love my dogs, stink and all. But I get embarrassed when non-dog owners come over and my house smells like pond. Y'all know what I'm talking about. I keep a clean house but I can't afford the water to wash their beds every week. I decided to try Angry Orange, and let me tell you, it works. Just two sprays on each dog bed and the odor was gone. Also four hours later after the orange smell had dissipated, still no doggie smell. 👍👍👍" —ocdmax Get it from Amazon for $17.95 (available in two scents). Promising review: "Got this because TikTok made me do it. I put a smear on a hair dye stain in my shower from six months ago. Thought I’d have to let it sit for a while, so I rubbed it in with a Scrub Daddy and was ready to let it sit, but it was already gone. Blew my mind. Removed rust stains in the toilet and hard water marks from the tank instantly. Goodbye, other cleaners." —L. Seitz Promising review: "I don't hate my old tile as much! My husband and I renovated our ground level to an entertaining area. The tile on the other hand was old and just would have cost way too much money to pull up. Needless to say, the area came out amazing. Now I don't hate the tile because the grout was so dirty and could not get it clean as much. I highly recommend this product. Now when I walked downstairs I don't cringe looking at the floor anymore. I will purchase another pen or two just to go over it later on. I'm not embarrassed by my floors anymore." —LUCYANN Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in two styles). And it works on sweaters and clothes, too, of course! This uses two AA batteries (not included). Promising review: "TikTok made me buy this. I saw a furniture flipper say this is the only one of these that she uses due to the fact that it doesn’t put holes in the items she uses it on. Love it. 10/10. I’ve been using it on my couch but will be using it on clothes in the future." —Sara Get it from Amazon for $12.48+ (available in two colors). Promising review: "Cleaned discolored tile in front of the fireplace, which is used almost every night during the winter. House is 70-years-old. Followed the directions given on the product. Tile looks brand-new with very little effort!!" —kellyMReads Get the kit that comes with a brush from Amazon for $21.99 (also available as a standalone bottle). Promising review: "I ordered this product because every spring and summer we have problems with flies and maggots in the garbage can. The first time I used Terro, it didn’t stick very well. I can say it was user error because the adhesive tape stuck to my fingers. I had a hard time getting the tape off my fingers, but did manage to stick the device on the garbage lid. The next day I noticed that the device had fallen in the garbage can, so I ordered another one. I was very careful not to get the tape on my fingers this time. The device has been on my garbage can lid for a few days now. It survived the weekly trash pickup. As for whether or not this device works: Let me tell you, NO FLIES, NO MAGGOTS!!! This product works well. Just be careful when applying the adhesive strip." —Simone Kale Promising review: "This is the greatest cleaning tool invented! I love it! I had tried every tip to get rid of the hard-water buildup around my sinks and this little gizmo gets rid of it in a breeze. Everyone should have one. So simple and so brilliant." —Debra J. Promising review: "I love these! I absolutely hate a dirty sink and I use these to keep my disposal from stinking. We bought our house back in October, and there was a funky smell coming from that drain. I tried a lot of different things, from baking soda/vinegar to ice and lemons. These little packages have gotten rid of that problem, and I continue to use them because they are cheap and they work. Also, there is something really satisfying about the blue bubbles in the sink." —Danielle Get a bag of four from Amazon for $3.62. Promising review: "The mesh of the tape is slightly smaller than the mesh of my windows, so it doesn't blend in. But it's better than a hole and cheaper than replacing the screen, and it still lets air through, so I am very happy." —Alara Get it from Amazon for $8.79+ (available in two colors and three sizes). The fan filters come with a Velcro-like adhesive that allows you to easily replace the filters. Some reviewers noted that when they removed the adhesive, it peeled the finish off their fans. Consider installing the filters with Command strips if you're concerned about that! Promising review: "I wasn't sure what to expect when purchasing these, but now they are a staple in every room of our house. Within three days the air smelled more crisp and was easier to breathe in our home. So simple and effective!" —Haylee Marez Get a three-pack from Amazon for $22.99. Promising review: "We bought our house two years ago. Prior to us, it had been used and abused as a rental house for about a decade. Our porcelain kitchen sink was just disgusting. My husband tried his best when we first moved in to get it to even resemble the original white, but the bottoms were just permanently stained a tan color. I gave up. Installing a new sink was added to the to-do list. I saw this product on a BuzzFeed article and bought it on a whim; it was cheap and I figured it couldn’t make the sink any worse. Holy crap! I’m absolutely blown away. I put a bit on the side with the disposal that was the most stained. I used a scrubbing brush drill bit on my power drill and went in a quick circle around the basin. 10 seconds tops. Boom. The sink was white. Not just white. The brilliant, bright original white it was supposed to be. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I went to town on both sides excessively for probably 10 minutes total, and my ugly sink looks shiny and white again. No more new sink for us. I couldn’t be more impressed." —Danielle Get it from Amazon for $9.95 (available in different sizes and packs). The liners are nonstick, reusable, dishwasher safe, and heat-resistant up to 500 degrees. You can even use these in toaster ovens and on the grill, like this reviewer: Promising review: "These liners are life changing! I never thought I needed them until a friend raved about them. Cleanup is so simple. No more melted cheese or sauces burnt to the bottom of my ovens. I love that I can cut down to size to fit my toaster oven also. My husband enjoys grilling with the liners now, as he doesn't have to line the grill with aluminum foil, which he found so annoying, deterring him from grilling. This product really has simplified my life in the kitchen, and I love it." —Kindle Custommer Get a pack of three from Amazon for $12.99. * Products That’ll Help Disappear Home Eyesores So Well, Your Space Will Feel Totally Refreshed * Things That’ll Help You Make All Kinds of Home Upgrades You Thought Were Too Difficult to Try/Out of Your Realm of Possibility * Quick Home DIYs You Can Pull Off, Even If You Couldn’t Pick A Screwdriver Out Of A Lineup * If Your Home Is In Desperate Need Of A Glowup, Here Are 75 Easy Upgrades * $20-And-Under Finds That Can Completely Transform Your Space Plus, finds from Walmart, Wayfair, and World Market.
