Earlier this year, nightly doomscrolling was swapped out for the easy-watch sitcom, which follows five twenty-somethings in New York as they navigate their post-college careers and all the complicated experiences that come with them.

The show starred the likes of Avantika, Ella Hunt, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay, and Jay Ellis. There was also a surprise cameo from model Gigi Hadid in her first acting role.

“I really hate how sitcoms are given no room to grow in the streaming era. This show was really finding its footing, but I feel like it really could’ve come into its own in season 2,” one fan wrote.

Another penned: “I am really, really shocked by this. I just gasped actually! Was it the best show? No. But I still see hype for it. Ugh now everyone go watch Adults; this got me scared!!!”

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “I feel like the show had so much potential. I really liked the characters as the episodes progressed. I'm kinda disappointed ngl.”

In one satirical post, Emily (@emily.sarre) wrote a text addressed to the New York mayor, pleading with him to “please take initiative and mediate this situation by contacting Hulu HQ as soon as possible”.

BuzzFeed reached out to Hulu, Netflix, and Mindy Kaling’s representative for comment.
