Fox News host Laura Ingraham is urging Republicans to “get their act together” ahead of this fall’s midterm elections as polls continue to show signs of Democratic strength in some unexpected areas.

On Tuesday’s installment of Fox’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Ingraham had a wide-ranging conversation with Michael LaRosa, who previously served as a press secretary for former first lady Jill Biden, and Ned Ryun, CEO of the conservative activist group American Majority.

Their chat began with a look at South Carolina, where the state’s Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Dr. Annie Andrews, is aiming to flip a seat that had been held by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who died last month at age 71.

Noting that Andrews “is going to be a tough candidate” for Republicans to beat in a general election, Ryun said, “I think Republicans are kind of whistling past the graveyard on some of these Senate seats that they thought were safe, whether it’s South Carolina, whether it’s Alaska, whether it’s Iowa, whether it’s Nebraska, Ohio ... we’ve got to kick it into gear over these next weeks, or we’re looking at not only losing the House, but losing the Senate as well.”

Ingraham agreed, noting that Ken Paxton, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, has made few public appearances on the campaign trail after securing an endorsement from President Donald Trump in May.

“I guess he’s hoping Trump and Elon Musk save him,” she said. “But he’d better get going in Texas.”

Later in the chat, LaRosa suggested Andrews was still at “a disadvantage,” but nonetheless suggested that Democrats had a good shot at filling some of the congressional seats in some of the other states Ryun had mentioned.

His assessment prompted Ingraham to observe: “I think there are a number of states that Republicans better get their act together. Iowa is one of them.”

The segment comes as Democrats have shown momentum in some traditionally conservative regions across the U.S., no doubt driven by abysmal approval ratings of Trump’s performance in the White House, ahead of the midterms.

For instance, the president’s endorsement of Paxton ― who is facing numerous personal and professional scandals ― is believed to have given a boost to his Democratic challenger, James Talarico.

On Wednesday, Trump himself appeared to respond to reports of pre-midterm apathy among Republicans by sharing a Truth Social post from right-wing influencer Matt Van Swol claiming he didn’t think many in the GOP can “fully grasp how badly they are fucking up right now.”

“I’m very worried the GOP is sleepwalking toward a midterm reckoning they don’t see coming,” the post continued.
