Fox Sports on Monday posted a video, “President Donald Trump is the Sports President,” that highlighted his attendance at sporting events. But the Instagram entry riled up observers, who called it “propaganda” and a “reminder” of the network’s relation to Fox News.

The clip, which was also shared on X before the IndyCar race Sunday in Washington, D.C., featured the president at the U.S. Open, Daytona 500, UFC White House bouts, NBA Finals, World Cup final and the Super Bowl ― with fawning remarks by broadcasters.

But the clip conveniently overlooked Trump’s divisive influence on sports. He has menaced football players who took a knee during the national anthem to protest social injustice and police brutality. His policies drove some teams to avoid celebratory visits to the White House. He insulted an Olympic athlete who disagreed with his policies. He attention-hogged during the World Cup final trophy celebration. He intervened to overturn the red card suspension of a star U.S. player. And for such a “sports president,” he sure gets booed a lot.

If he chooses to attend the just-begun U.S. Open tennis tournament, boos for him might create quite a racket if 2025 was any indication.

Fox Sports’ video got booed as well in the Instagram comments.

“Propaganda at its finest!!” one person wrote.

“We’re all getting a reminder FOX Sports is the same company as FOX News,” another chimed in. (Both operate under Fox Corporation.)

“Any footage of him doing his job? Or nah?” added one critic.

Snarked another: “I’d rather have an Economic and Peaceful President, but maybe that’s just me.”
