Compared with the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV), VEEV has also underperformed, as the ETF has advanced 24.9% over the past year and gained 9.6% year-to-date. Veeva Systems has underperformed the broader market amid concerns over softer demand and competitive pressures. Although Veeva maintained a strong 28.8% average operating margin and 49.4% free cash flow margin over the past year, Q1 billings came in at $850 million, while year-over-year billings growth averaged 13% over the past four quarters, slightly lagging the software sector. The weaker billings performance raised concerns about increasing competition and challenges in acquiring and retaining customers. Analysts expect VEEV's diluted EPS to increase 13.5% year-over-year to $6.65 for the fiscal year ending in January 2027. VEEV has surpassed consensus EPS estimates in three of the past four quarters, while missing expectations in one quarter. Based on the 27 analysts covering VEEV stock, the consensus rating is a "Moderate Buy." The rating is based on 15 "Strong Buys," three "Moderate Buys," eight "Holds," and one "Strong Sell." The configuration is more bullish than it was a month ago, when the stock had 14 "Strong Buy" ratings. On August 17, Oppenheimer analyst Ken Wong maintained an Outperform rating on Veeva Systems and raised the price target from $225 to $300. Wong cited improving software sentiment and resilience in vertical SaaS despite budget pressures and lengthening sales cycles. Based on analysts' estimates, the mean price target of $247.16 implies a 1.8% premium to VEEV's current share price, while the Street-high price target of $340 suggests a 40.1% upside.
